Publisher's summary

"Love is bull****."

That's how blogger, Bianca Bailey begins the first post of what's supposed to be a new series on her website, in response to her readers curiosity about her feelings on love. That post never makes it to the public eye, but those three words perfectly sum up Bianca's outlook, and rule the way she interacts with the men around her — including Rashad.

Rashad isn't interested in anything serious either, but for a different reason. Rashad loves women, and women love him, but he's avoiding trouble — the nickname his father uses for the kind of woman that makes you forget all others exist. He’s young, he’s handsome, and his photography career is right at the point of taking off. Settle down for what?

Although their relationship is contentious at first, their mutual attraction isn't something that can be ignored, or denied. Disdain on one end, and unshakeable curiosity on the other, develop into an unconventional relationship where they get the benefits of companionship without the trouble of love.

One thinks they can keep it casual, the other is looking for an opportunity to take it further. Neither of them expects to “catch feelings”… let alone find themselves considering the “L” word.

The Banter Between Rashad and Bianca was the cutest!

The duet style narration is by far, my most favorite style. UGH! I really enjoyed the chemistry between Rashad and Bianca. The banter between them two was so cute. I found myself swooning, smiling extra hard, and cackling. CCJ did a great job (per usual) with the pacing of their relationship (it was quick, but the pace of the quickness didn’t feel like a “whiplash”). Nothing was dragged out or unrealistically quick. I even found myself proud of Bianca’s growth at the end of the book and how even though the evolution of her relationship with Rashad influenced it, he didn’t “save” her. She saved herself. I’ve read enough of CCJ’s books to comfortably say that her books are truly like a breath of fresh air and The Trouble with Us is no different. This was a wonderful read!

A Great Read!

It took me half of the 1st chapter for me to realize that I knew this couple. I only started reading CCJ books this year and read the Inevitable Series. I love knowing how a couple got together and this did not disappoint.

I love Duel Narrations! Wesleigh is Royalty so she can NEVER do me wrong! This is my Second book with Sharif and he is now in my top 5 male voices. He knows what he is doing to bring a character to life and I am pleased! I can hear him saying the line, "Open up! Let me see you!" 🤣

This is for sure a relisten and read.

How it made me feel. I smiled the whole time. The way these characters were written was so well done

I loved how it was narrated. Other books are done where each chapter is from the male/female perspective. This was more conversational so easy imagine. I enjoyed this so much. Great book, great story, and great narration. I wanna hear more from Sharif. His voice is everything!

The Artistry of Good Trouble

Foremost, I had the pleasure of reading “The Trouble With Us - Book 2 of 3” via the kindle platform which was a great read navigating through the complexities of Bianca (her traumas) & Rashad (charismatic lady’s man) under normal circumstances. However, if it’s conceivably possible to elevate a literary experience, listen to the Audible version of “The Trouble With Us”. 🤯😍‼️Characters Bianca narrated by (💐Wesleigh Siobhan💐) the undisputed queen & Rashad narrated by (🥃Sharif Stephens🥃) both performances were superb‼️But Mr. Sharif 😉, his voice can make miranda rights sound like poetry or indulging in the artistry of good trouble …probable🤭😁🤷🏾‍♀️‼️

Absolutely love it

Once again CCJ you have knocked it out the park. I love reading the books and now I love the audio. Wesleigh and Sharif killed the narration. Their tone was perfect and on point. They brought an already strong story to life and lived in every word.

Pure Excellence all around!!!

CCJ wrote an interesting story with fully developed characters and a vibrant landscape. I loved EVERYTHING about the production too. Wesleigh Siobhan did the damn thang!!! It’s hard to go back to regularly narrated audiobooks after experiencing a duet read. It was sooo good. I’m not familiar with the male narrator, Sharif Stephens, but I’ll be on the lookout for anything else he does. BRAVO👏🏽👏🏽
