Story
The life of a courtesan in Pompeii is glamorous yet perilous. At night in the home her patron bought for her, the house with the golden door, Amara’s dreams are haunted by her past. She longs for her sisterhood of friends—the women at the brothel she was forced to leave behind—and worse, finds herself pursued by the cruel and vindictive man who once owned her. To be truly free, she will need to be as ruthless as he is. Amara knows her existence in Pompeii is subject to Venus, the goddess of love. Yet finding love may prove to be the most dangerous act of all.

Story
You are born to a king, but marry a tyrant. You stand helplessly as he sacrifices your child to placate the gods. You watch him wage war on a foreign shore and you comfort yourself with violent thoughts of your own. You play the part, fooling enemies who deny you justice. And slowly, you plot. But when your husband returns in triumph, what then? Acceptance or vengeance—death follows both. So you bide your time and force the gods' hands in a wretched game of vengeance.

In her international bestseller SPQR, Mary Beard told the thousand-year story of ancient Rome. Now she shines her spotlight on the emperors who ruled the Roman empire, from Julius Caesar (assassinated 44 BCE) to Alexander Severus (assassinated 235 CE). Emperor of Rome is not your usual chronological account of Roman rulers, one after another: the mad Caligula, the monster Nero, the philosopher Marcus Aurelius.

Story
Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey are unquestionably two of the greatest epic masterpieces in Western literature. Though more than 2,700 years old, their stories of brave heroics, capricious gods, and towering human emotions are vividly timeless. The Iliad can justly be called the world’s greatest war epic. The terrible and long-drawn-out siege of Troy remains one of the classic campaigns. The Odyssey chronicles the many trials and adventures Odysseus must pass through on his long journey home from the Trojan wars to his beloved wife.

As the daughter of a drug dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. It's safer to keep her mouth shut and stay out of sight. Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

She takes in the beautiful long blonde hair, torn yellow dress, and chipped blue nail-varnish. It can’t be real. And then the police add the word "suicide". But Kat refuses to believe them. Even when they show her the familiar looping handwriting and smudged ink on the note her little girl left behind. She knows her bubbly, vivacious daughter would never take her own life.

An Amazing Ending
The Wolf Den, The House With The Golden Door, and The Temple of Fortuna—three titles of books that transcend time and effortlessly capture Roman-Greco historical fiction in every word, sentence, paragraph, prose, and phrase. Ms. Elodie Harper knows what she is doing. The way she writes is phenomenal. The way she has crafted such a masterpiece with characters we have no choice but to simply fall in love with makes us only crave another book in the series. Emotions run high in Pompeii; fear grips the reader in Rome—there is intense suspense is on every pages as Amara is force to keep her secrets to herself but fights everyday with determination to give her daughter a better life. As a reader I could only wish for Felix’s demise but then we got something so much better in the end. Elodie Harper is an award-winning author who has done it again. The Temple of Fortuna was very giving! Ya’ll role the credits!

Wonderfully written till the end!
First off this book series had me invested from the get! I kept listening even though the character choices were kind of upsetting! Looking back those were honestly very human choices made for the situation. With such character development and depth to the story. I kept forgetting they were in POMPEII! This book the ending to the series did not disappoint.

An Amazing Ending!!!
This was a spectacular ending to Amara’s story. The tension between Amara and her friends, daughter, lovers and enemies was realistic and beautifully executed. As an Archaeology major who has studied and visited Pompeii I absolutely loved how she brought the community to life and included real artifacts-both the artistic treasures and everyday items.
