About this listen

From the #1 Kickstarter campaign of all time—#1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson adds to his Cosmere universe shared by Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive with a new standalone novel that combines fantasy and science fiction. Narrated by William DeMeritt.

Running. Putting distance between himself and the relentless Night Brigade has been Nomad’s strategy for years. Staying one or two steps ahead of his pursuers by skipping through the Cosmere from one world to the next.

But now, his powers too depleted to escape, Nomad finds himself trapped on Canticle, a planet that will kill anyone who doesn’t keep moving. Fleeing the fires of a sunrise that melts the very stones, he is instantly caught up in the struggle between a heartless tyrant and the brave rebels who defy him.

Failure means a quick death, incinerated by the sun…or a lifetime as a mindless slave. Tormented by the consequences of his past, Nomad must fight not only for his survival—but also for his very soul.

Note from Brandon:

I sincerely believe that stories don’t live until they’re heard. While I would write even if no one were listening—it’s who I am—I thrive because I know the stories are being brought to life by all of you. In this, stories are a special kind of art. Each of you will visualize this book, and its characters, a little differently—you will each put your own stamp on it, making it yours. I don’t believe a story is quite finished until that has happened—until the dream in my head has become a reality (even if briefly) in yours.

And so this book is yours, as they all are once you listen to them. Thank you so much for bringing life to my work, and to the Cosmere.

Good cosmere story

A cosmere substory on a planet with interesting powers, characters and terrain with a minor stormlight character.

Another world to lose myself.

No spoilers, this book is another example of Brandon Sanderson’s genius. It’s another story line that could just keep going. I hope to see more of these books be released!

Sandersoooooooon!

Again and again and AGAIN he does it! I don't know how this fountain of worldbuilding and character arcs continues to come out with hit after hit. But here we are! Sunlit Man shows that Sanderson can indeed write Sci-fi AND still tie it in with the Cosmere. The narrator does an excellent job!

Great book

Narrator should have done his cosmere pronunciation/ accent homework. Other than that it rocked. 15 word minimum on reviews is crazy

I love the voice actor. He did a great job.

I liked the story. I can’t write more right now. It gave me a great nostalgic feeling. 😄

The story

Hi, my name is Colton Stevens and I’m dyslexic. I know you’re thinking, that was a weird way to start it, but I have a point just bear with me. with dyslexia it makes it interesting, which is why I love audible books, but that’s not the point of why i’m doing this so let’s get to the it. These secret projects are just amazing to the point of I want to become a writer. I know what you’re thinking, but Colton like you’ve already said a few times you’re dyslexic it’s not gonna be easy, and what I would like to say to that is, yeah I know and I don’t care, I’m going to become a writer! But anyway, the point is these books inspired me to do this so what were they inspire you to do?

One of Sanderson’s best

Non-stop action that doesn’t lend well to character development, but it works with the plot of the constant impending doom of the Sun.

Loved it!!

Amazing performance! Amazing story! I absolutely loved how it tied so well into his other Cosmere novels while still doing something new and exciting on its own! I found it fun and exciting, yet poignant in some moments. It is a great read and I would love to hear more about Nomad and his journey!

Worth every second of my time.

Truly a delightful experience. I really enjoyed learning new details and aspects of the overarching power system and its interesting interactions with other characters and abilities.
