About this listen
Contains all three books in The Stolen Future series.
The Signal
A mysterious signal. A start-up that wants to change the world. A future that no longer belongs to us.
When a stranger with a high-tech implant is found in the remote Finnish wilderness, neurosurgeon Bill and his computer scientist friend Steve see an opportunity. But they don't know what powers they're up against. They soon must ask themselves what moral boundaries they're willing to cross to succeed.
Ten years later, the world has changed. Airships roam the skies, strange plants grow in the forests, and entire swaths of land are deserted.
In the midst of this alien world, a father and daughter struggle to survive in the mountains of Montana and avoid being discovered by The Others. One thing is clear: humanity's future depends upon deciphering the mysterious signal.
The Signal 2
The world has changed. A killer is on the loose in the metaworld, and the still fragile resistance is in danger of crumbling.
The resistance is desperately battling the influence of the Forum and the implant carriers. As humanity spends more and more time in the artificially created metaworld, Steve Työpaikkaa stumbles upon a horrifying truth that shakes the foundations of the future.
Meanwhile, his daughter June embarks on a dangerous journey after the Resistance finds the source of a new signal. It must be destroyed if what is left of humanity is to survive, but success may require a price June cannot pay.
The Signal 3
June's mission was successful, but at what cost?
A year after destroying the wormhole generator in France, thus blocking the way to Earth for an allied AI, she lives with AcesAzrael in Switzerland. She fights alongside the last free humans against the approaching Forum and its unstoppable troops.
There is still no trace of Janika. When the Swiss make a dangerous plan shortly before their final defeat, there is only one hope for June and Ace: to find Janika and uncover the secret of a new, mysterious place in the metaworld.
The Black Fortress is a phenomenon you can find your way into but never out of. It is the only way out for the future of mankind, and at the same time, could be its downfall...

After a minor incident, these scientists become aware of an obstacle in the lunar soil. It's located outside the area reserved for the hypertelescope and is therefore none of their business. Aliens exist...and, as it turns out, most of them aren’t that friendly. Jacob Brown wasn’t even born yet the first time they attacked Earth. He was only 14 the second time it happened. When Earth finally came together and fielded its first spaceborne military, Jacob didn’t hesitate to volunteer. Serving aboard a mighty starship, he’d be able to defend his planet - and his family - when, inevitably, they came again.

Story
Everyone could see it coming. But one man could do something about it. Oh, he couldn't avert the nuclear holocaust, but a scientist in Austria, ruthlessly using billions of research dollars for his own purposes, set himself up and out: he created a time machine, and filled a warehouse with low-tech survival gear. Too bad he didn't get to use it himself. Instead, a team of American grad students, led by their professor, is sent back to the late Roman Empire. Even though they are experts in this time and place, they are about to realize that books and actual experience are very different things.

Story
On a desolate beach in far northern Scotland, the winter storms have been washing up all manner of things since time began. But buried in the centre of one smaller iceberg is a shard of ancient Viking pottery telling a partial tale of a hidden mysterious island beyond the ice and mist, that was home to a great treasure and even greater horrors. Thawing in the same block of ice was a rotting flap of skin that refused to be identified but had similar skin patterns to a creature not seen for 100 million years.

Daniel Petrovich, the most lethal operative created by the Department of Defense's Black Flagged Program, represents a new breed of covert operative. He wasn't recruited from Special Forces, law enforcement, or any of the alphabet agencies. Unlike most "heroes", there's no obvious black and white in Petrovich's world. He sees everything in gray - an uncompromising trait that will keep him alive long enough to pull off one of the biggest coups in covert military history. "Inception" is Daniel Petrovich's origin story.

Using the sun as a lens, they are to align a flock of probes in such a way that the moment of the Big Bang becomes visible. For astronomer Christine, this is a dream come true. So she is bitterly disappointed when the first images are obscured by a kind of veil that prevents any insight. She works obsessively to find a solution, but when she finally succeeds in lifting the veil, she sees something that would have been better kept hidden...

Something different (and good) is hard to find
- By Chet on 06-27-25
By: Jonathan Yanez, and others
Narrator choice was a catastrophic choice here. The two main protagonists? Young women/girls. Most of the main characters? Also young. Narrator choice? An older male whose voice is gravely and somewhat monotone. The first book was extremely difficult to get into. I forced my way through and semi got used to his voice, although never enough that I could get into the story.
Save your time and money and get a different book. Maybe if it is re-recorded by another narrator other than Thron might I suggest considering it.
Bad choice for narrator, boring story
