Loved this book
I listened to the audible version of this book, and it has been my favorite hard science fiction novel to date. I have read or listened to only a handful of such novels in my life. I heartily recommend this. I feel the other Audible reviews unfairly and unjustly rate this book.

Good story, wish it went further
This story started a little slow and I was unsure if I would like it. But it clicked and was worth the read. Fascinating concept and one not too far off reality. Only part that was not realistic was the stupidity with which the crew entered Serenity. People that undisciplined would never have been chosen for the mission.

umpteen times.
the only problem I have with this story, besides the fact that it's a little slow, is that the author insists on using the phrase "umpteen times",... well, umpteen times. lol bad editing I guess. the story is fine though.

Thought provoking
Interesting read. Great idea and loved how the story unfolded. The end felt a bit rushed after the long wait to uncover the mystery of The Object. But I really enjoyed this book.

excellent performance!
A solid story matched by a wonderful performance. I loved the use of current discovery to fashion this "what-if" fiction.

Just the best
wonderfully entertaining in all aspects. A great story theme written in a way to keep the reader interested throughout. A sensational imagination connected to expert knowledge of the subject.
Maybe the best SFi book I've ever rea and I've read thousands.

Chick book. Couldn't finish it.
More about emotions than hard science. Soap opera feel. Thought it be like to Arthur c Clark's Rama. Chapter four and The Object is barely mentioned.
