Acerca de esta escucha
Entrepreneur and best-selling author of The Lean Startup, Eric Ries reveals how entrepreneurial principles can be used by businesses of all kinds, ranging from established companies to early-stage startups, to grow revenues, drive innovation, and transform themselves into truly modern organizations, poised to take advantage of the enormous opportunities of the 21st century.
In The Lean Startup, Eric Ries laid out the practices of successful startups - building a minimal viable product, customer-focused and scientific testing based on a build-measure-learn method of continuous innovation, and deciding whether to persevere or pivot. In The Startup Way, he turns his attention to an entirely new group of organizations: established enterprises like iconic multinationals GE and Toyota, tech titans like Amazon and Facebook, and the next generation of Silicon Valley upstarts like Airbnb and Twilio.
Drawing on his experiences over the past five years working with these organizations as well as nonprofits, NGOs, and governments, Ries lays out a system of entrepreneurial management that leads organizations of all sizes and from every industry to sustainable growth and long-term impact. Filled with in-the-field stories, insights, and tools, The Startup Way is an essential road map for any organization navigating the uncertain waters of the century ahead.

Based on an acclaimed professor's legendary strategy course at Harvard Business School, The Strategist offers a radically new perspective on a leader's most vital role. "Are you a strategist?" That's the first question Cynthia Montgomery asks the business owners and senior executives from all over the world who participate in her highly regarded executive education course. It's not a question they anticipate, but by the time the program ends, they cannot imagine leading their companies to success without being - and living the role of - a strategist.

In the past few years, a number of well-known firms have failed; think of Blockbuster, Kodak, or RadioShack. When we hear about their demise, it often seems inevitable - a natural part of "creative destruction." But closer examination reveals a disturbing truth: Companies large and small are shuttering more quickly than ever. What does it take to buck this trend? The simple answer is: ambidexterity. Firms must remain competitive in their core markets, while also winning in new domains.

Achieving that fulfillment starts with understanding exactly WHY we do what we do. As Start With Why has spread around the world, countless readers have asked me the same question: How can I apply Start With Why to my career, team, company or nonprofit? Along with two of my colleagues, Peter Docker and David Mead, I created this hands-on, step-by-step guide to help you find your WHY.

Very practical
Smart, practical and well explained. The only draw back is that he constantly says that he doesn’t want to be involved in politics and then there he goes. It would have been better not to pretend so. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective. For my family the part about the improvements in the immigration system when my daughter has had to wait more than a year for the replacement of a residency card that the government itself lost (and was never delivered to her in spite of her paying extra to safer delivery) sounds hollow.

Insightfully revealing the obvious things you already know
This is an insightful book in the lessons it shares through related stories across many industries and company types. It’s helpful in developing or enhancing a toolkit for improving a business in modern times. There is no “ah ha!” moment or point at which it all clicks — but rather, the book itself powers the obvious things you may have not realized you already knew.

The perfect guide to master entrepreneur skills
What made the experience of listening to The Startup Way the most enjoyable?
I've been long time follower of Eric in conferences and talks around the world and is always a pleasure to hear him talk about the challenges that C-levels and entrepreneurs have to face in a day to day scenarios
What other book might you compare The Startup Way to and why?
I was finishing, High Output Management by Andrew S. Grove and this was a useful update about all the concepts of the current industries needs in terms of time administration and management efficiency. Besides from digging very deep into the adaptation of startups way of action to the industries challenges is a nice book to step up in many processes as a C-Level of any startup
Which character – as performed by Eric Ries – was your favorite?
The best character of the book was himself! He master the storytelling of many situations and experiences through his career that are very similar to the ones facing most of the entrepreneurs and top execs in technology companies
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My constant reaction to this book was: this will be very useful if I apply this to my management plan or product development schedule
Any additional comments?
A great book

Not a book for startups but bigger business
So I thoroughly enjoy reading Eric Ries for his other books which have been incredibly actionable. This book is not that but still incredibly interesting to consider especially if you have a growing business and want to continue your innovative culture. It was less actionable playbook than his other works and more theoretical in my opinion.

Lots of actionable advice and real world examples of why, how and what can work when thinking about startups (and what does not). A number of topics are covered from the perspective of the founder, investor, legal, human resource, information technology, politician, regulator, government agency, big corporation, business owner and baseline employee among others.
