My first time with this author, but it did not disappoint. I’m looking forward to listening or reading more by this author. I loved the historic stuff in the book as well.

Learned about history as I enjoyed an excellent book

I thoroughly enjoyed the story line, in-depth characters, history and narration of this excellent novel.

I look forward to the release of each Elizabeth Camden book and this one certainly did not disappoint. She is an excellent author who does her research into the timeline she writes on in history.

I felt as if I had a peek into Washington DC in that era, the life of someone running a company gathering spices from all over the world, and the political climate of the time.

To top it off there were great characters, family dynamics and a love interest.

I highly recommend this book.

Interesting story

Good story with interesting characters. But as others have said, the narrator has oddly stilted sentences. She can’t seem to read a full sentence without one to three pauses. Maybe she didn’t read through the book first before recording it, so maybe she’s figuring out the tone and mood sentence by sentence. Sometimes she puts in a hard stop when no period is present. It’s quite distracting, but I eventually got used to it as the storyline pulled me in,

I throughly enjoyed this lite romantic novel and really learned a lot about herbs and spices

I have long been familiar with Good Housing seal of approval and now know the genesis of it. Historical fiction is my very favorite genre and this didn’t disappoint. I loved the fact mrs Camden didn’t need profanity sex or violence to make her book so great. She just had a good story that kept my interest. No fluff or fillers needed here. Now looking for other audible books by her

leaves you needing to read book 2!

Absolutely Astounding

This book kept me the whole time! I would recommend to anyone, it’s amazing. The characters are interesting and the context is delightful. During every twist and turn, you’ll want to know what’s you’re in for next.

Great story

Nice story. Good narration. No swearing. Christian principles without being sappy or preachy. Also interesting time in American history that we don’t usually get to hear about.
