Peggy Serrano couldn’t wait for her best friend to come home from the war. But the Jimmy Barnett who returns is much different from the Jimmy who left, changed so drastically by his experience as a medic in Europe that he can barely function. When he attempts the unthinkable, his parents check him into the VA hospital. Peggy determines to help the Barnetts unravel what might have happened to send their son over the edge. She starts by contacting Jimmy’s war buddies, trying to identify the mysterious woman in the photo they find in Jimmy’s belongings.

Captivating Story
Loved this story that came to such an unexpected conclusion. The narrator 's performance was a bit too slow for me. Susie rom an altogether different Grove

One of Camden's Best Novels
Having now read every novel by E. Camden, I can say I've loved every one of them. I was skeptical of a book with a modern day setting, but Camden managed to weave a slice of American history into current events. The characters were complex and the warring events made me think there could be no satisfactory conclusion. it was a page turner to the end.

Excellent
I love this author. This book was different from her usual. But I loved the modern story. I love how she once again delved into unknown or lesser known pieces of history. She clearly does so much research to bring these stories to life. The love story was both painful and sweet.
