About this listen

Holed up in an isolated cabin in the Hoh Rain Forest, county music heartthrob Joe Bob Blade is under strict doctor’s orders not to utter a sound. During a freak storm, a beautiful woman collapses at his door. Ali’s gentle humor and hard-luck story captivate Joe, raised in privilege and until recently sailing smoothly to the top of the charts. Surprised that she doesn’t recognize him, he decides to keep his identity a secret. It’s a novelty being treated like a normal guy, and besides, Joe can communicate only in writing. Ali doesn’t reveal her last name, either. Sparks fly, but both resist the heat. Their timing couldn’t be worse.

Back in civilization, Ali and Joe struggle to move on. Over the next year and a half, neither can forget those two magical days.

Book one of the Olympic Peninsula series.

Can love work through the silence?

I found this a romantic and charming story. The flirting between these two was fun and quite witty. When one can't talk and the communication must be done by writing it makes it so much fun. The miscommunication can be fun and quite enticing. Blushing abounds because errors can be made. These two are quite fun characters. I enjoyed their story. It kind of reminded me of a Pretty Woman vibe. I couldn't stop the story. Ali had her hands full trying to figure out what had happened to her brother and that mystery, then she comes upon Joe in the woods. He's dealing with surgery that can mess up his career. His biggest obstacle sis having to keep quiet due to surgery on his vocal cords. I enjoyed the story very much.Hearing it in audio did a lot to add to it. The narration was a little dry but I still enjoyed it as it brought the story to life. With Ali's brother's mystery, I feel hearing it in audio, that helps add more to the story. It's quite enjoyable.

Enjoyed listening

The Silent Woodsman by Cat Treadgold
Narrated by Cat Treadgold

I always love finding new to me authors, there is something about discovering how they write.

I found myself getting lost in the book as I was listening to it, think part of it was her voice.  I would get so caught up that I forgot a few times that this wasn't set in current times and couldn’t figure out why they weren't using the internet to search, etc. for a second then I realized.

Allie and Joe fit together the moment they met and fate continued to intervene to find a way to get them together.  It wasn't the easiest of paths for them but it worked in the end.  I feel like everyone deserves a Becca in their life.  She seemed to be the voice of reason and fiercely protective of Allie.  I have my own Becca and I would be lost without her.

I was intrigued by the twin connection and have seen it in real life between my mother in law and her sister a few times.  That is definitely an interesting bind.

I'm looking forward to reading/listening to more books by Ms. Treadgold and getting to know the next one to fall.

Very Good Story

4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a very good debut contemporary romance that definitely gave me a slow burn between Joe and Ali. This story was very enjoyable and I loved that the author was the narrator.

Joe is taking a bit of a break with his voice being isolated to rest in a cabin in the Hoh Rain forest. Joe never expects a visitor at his cabin…. Where he meets Ali. Joe connects with Ali…but when. It is all said and done they part ways… Ali never knowing that Joe is a popular country singer…. But in all they never forgot each other….the connection and spark.

Time passes…but a chance encounter reunites Joe and Ali in unexpected ways..but with family drama, jealousy and lies come in between…will Joe and Ali ever have their HEA that they deserve….

I am already looking to forward to Book 2 … this was a very good story to start a new series ⭐️

New Author to me!! Can’t wait to listen to the next book!

The Silent Woodsman by Cat Treadgold
Narrated by Cat Treadgold

I have to say that this book really surprised me. Cat did a wonderful job with the narration. Her inflection and voice brought each of the characters to life. I loved the premise and all of the detailed characters that came into Ally and Joe’s lives as they wound their way back to each other. I love finding great new authors and Cat Treadgold fits that bill. I’m looking forward to listening to the next book!

Great listen from new author

The Silent Woodsman by Cat Treadgold, narrated by the author herself, is a distinctive and charming audiobook that leads listeners on an unexpected journey. This audiobook provides a wholly immersive experience thanks to its vivid storytelling and compelling narration.

The protagonist's silence develops into a potent narrative device that enables readers to learn more about the character's feelings and inner struggles.
The story gains depth from Cat Treadgold's masterful narration, which also enhances the mood of the story's woodland setting.
The subtle exploration of more profound themes, such as the value of silence in a noisy world and the impact of human connection, is one thing that distinguishes "The Silent Woodsman" from other books. These introspective components enhance the narrative and take it beyond the level of a straightforward story.

Romance you never saw coming

This has to be one of my favorite romances. It's honest, it's laid back and accidental love does happen, or can it? Joe is recovering from throat surgery. He can not say one single word. So he isolates himself in a small cabin off the grid. Somewhere his fans will not find him. He is happy and content. Ali is walking around in her twin brother's secret places in hopes of finding clues as to where he really is. She has been told he had died in an accident. She can't believe them. Getting lost in a rain shower, she stumbles her way on to a cabin. Thinking it abandoned she approaches the porch when the door opens. So that is all you get! This author writes with her heart on her sleeve. She is also the narrator of the book and you can tell she loves her story. It is fast paced and with all the events going on in these two very different characters, you just can't tell how it will end. As for me it ended too soon. I have questions that I bet they will be in book 2.

great audio book

This is my first audio book by this author which I enjoyed listening to. The narrator kept the story engaging by using different tones. They had me wanting to know what would happen next with Ali and Joe. They are great, strong, connectable, engaging characters that made the story easy to listen to. There is great chemistry and growth with these two characters. I found this an entertaining audio book, one you don’t want to miss. I look forward to listening to other stories by this author. I highly recommend this audiobook,

The Silent Woodsman Audio Book Review

The Silent Woodsman by Cat Treadgold is available now in eBook, Audiobook, and Physical Book
⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Audio Book Review

The Silent Woodsman is the first installment of the Olympic Peninsula series written by Cat Treadgold. This is my first time reading (listening) to a novel by Treadgold. Down on her luck, Ali is attempting to connect with her twin when she finds herself at a cabin waiting out a storm. Mute country singer Joe answers the door and communicates with Ali in writing as he is “resting his voice”. The instant undeniable attraction between the two is so innocent and pure. The chemistry between the two is intense. I thoroughly enjoyed the different approach of communicating through writing. At first I wasn’t sure that I was going to like this but it ended up growing on me. The Silent Woodsman was a little too slowly paced for my liking. I did find it dragging out in places and rushed in others, especially the ending. Despite this flaw, I loved how descriptive the detail was. The characters were lovable, relatable, and engaging. I felt as if I was on this journey right alongside them. I recommend this novel to all romance lovers and truly look forward to reading installment number two later this month.
