Publisher's summary

Possibly the darkest and most shocking six scary short stories yet ever created from bestselling author Stephen R. King. An instinct of passion and disrespect for decency and humanity fill this volume of life experiences we mostly keep in the back of our conscience, never wanting to bring to the forefront. Its truly sick!

The AI was (lol) Lifeless. Excellent Stories

The AI was horrible. No difference in tone between characters, makes it had to follow.

AI not really about the story

This is hard to listen to maybe because I am a like a super fan of a few narrators.
It was so difficult to tell when characters changed, so some parts I had to listen to again because it didn’t make sense
AI also doesn’t have a grasp of inflection so this was a terrible book to sample AI with. I’m glad it was free but would probably pay for a version read by a narrator even a poor one would be hard pressed to be this bad.
Long review short good book poor narration.

Great Fiction

I enjoyed the stores. Stephen , King goes where other people fear to tread. He broaches what is usually taboo subject and he does it very well.
The AI narrator leaves a lot to be desired, and almost calls me to not finish the stories. However, I am glad I did.

The first story was about necrophilia. I was not impressed.

I thought I’d give it a try, but it just wasn’t very good. I will definitely not be reading anymore of his books in the future and he’s definitely nothing like the other Stephen King.

Virtual

Stories were good. Didn’t like the virtual voice. Real voices from real actors are better.

Narration was a distraction. The text didn’t flow as human voices do.

For the first time since I found Stephen King’s work, I am disappointed. AI narration is far and away a distraction and the words are “flat.” One out of all of his work? Great track record!

huge disappointment

I could not even get into the story because of the narration. I will never get another book that has virtual voice.

The robotic voice is terrible!

Did not like the virtual voice.
I hope this is not the future of audio books.

Bring back voice actors

A solid mix of supernatural stories that I’m sure I would have enjoyed more if that robotic AI voice hasn’t sucked the soul out of the book.

AI is a failure

There is no infliction in the voice. She uses the wrong tense of words. The worst is turning acronyms into words. M.O. is not Moe and K.I.A is not Kia. it was difficult to listen to at times. I hope this isn't what the world is turning to because we will all be out of a job at this rate.
