About this listen

A tough princess meets her match - a rugged bodyguard - in the third book of the royally entertaining series from the New York Times best-selling author.

When it comes to the wild Kingdom of Alaska, in a reality where Russia never sold the territory to the United States, a Rodinov has always protected the Baranov royal family. And Jeffrey, born and raised to be the next in the long and illustrious line of protectors, is not about to let the tradition fail with him.

But Princess Nicole isn't exactly the easiest charge: an expert at hunting who's sharp as nails, stubborn as a bull, and completely convinced she doesn't need anyone watching her back. Even worse, she's got the most kissable lips Jeffrey has ever seen.

What Nicole really needs is a man with the perfect combination of brains and brawn to show her the royal ropes (and cuffs...and scarves...). Someone who can make her feel like a queen - in bed and out of it. And, after all, taking care of the royal family is exactly what Rodinovs are trained to do....

Contains mature themes.

Wonderful conclusion, recommended series

The Royal Mess

This is my review for books 1 to 3 of the Royal Series (no spoilers)
Each audiobook is a stand-alone complete story, but you will get most out of them when you read them in the correct order. They all involve the royal family of Alaska, and it’s so much more fun when you get to know them.

I really enjoyed this series. Mostly because of the humor, writing style and ‘non traditional’ romance.
Usually in romance stories there is a certain build up, drama that pushes the couple apart and then a reconciliation.
The patterns and pace in these books are pleasantly different and sometimes unpredictable.
A breath of fresh air in the rom-com genre for me.
Highly recommended for a non-traditional romantic relaxing hilarious break from life.

I liked the narration. Emotions, sarcasm and timing were nicely done.
I did have trouble separating thoughts from speech and distinguishing characters from time to time.

I hope some of MaryJanice’s series (including this one) will get bundled in the future.
I was able to buy book 2 and 3 in a sale, and book 1 is currently free via audible+.
But I wouldn’t have spent a whole credit on each separate book, no matter how much I enjoyed them.
And apart from the cost, it’s much more user friendly to just press play on a trilogy and keep listening then to locate and download each book separately.
