The story:

One of the best ones

Does a great job describing space marines and custodians from the standpoint of "baseline humans". After this I feel like I understand custodians a lot better too

Amazing series!

I must say that this series of novels are the best 40k fiction I have listened to so far. I really hope to see it continue in the future.

Good story good narration

The three narrators were a fantastic touch. The only thing that would have upped it is if in one chapter the narrator for another character just spoke for the character, thinking Verian and Jeck

Great addition to the 40k setting

excellent book with typically excellent performances. As always with Wraight, the world and characters are beautifully drawn, pulling you into a story while also enriching the setting as a whole. well worth a listen to any 40k fans.

Amazing and Immersive

Chris Wraight knows to bring characters to life.. I love his writing from a first-person view and even the actors that were chosen to narrate part 1 and 2. Probably my favorite series in the warhammer 40k universe books. I wish there were a part 3 on its way but.. oh well.

A Solid Sequel

Binged it just as I did the first book, could barely put it down. It does get a bit slow in some parts, but by the time I felt that way the pacing kicked back into gear everytime. Absolutely love Valerion and Alayah as a duo, and Jeck grew on me with every one of her chapters. Really hope there will be at least one more book in this series.

Perfect follow-up story

This book covers every single base; action packed, politically tense, and the plot twists are exquisite. Would recommend for anyone that like Custodes or Sisters of Silence.

Great book. Showing the master planning of the primarch

Great book. Not quite as good as the first one but the lore implications are a lot bigger than the first one

Enjoyed the political aspects

This was a particularly satisfying listen, just like its predecessor, for the insight into political aspects that were a little more nuanced than most. The three character rotation throughout the series has been enjoyable because all of the characters are believable within their capacities to act (or not). This book particularly had a satisfying denouement and the final sentence was wonderful.
