About this listen

The days I spent as a prisoner of war haunt my dreams most nights. I’m doing my best to move from one day to the next, but nothing feels pleasurable anymore—until I find Carlo Marchesi sneaking around my cabin.

Carlo is a mobster. He’s supposed to be under guard. But when he suggests a wicked way to pay for a night in my house, I can’t say no, and I can’t hold back the real me, the dangerous man I never thought I’d be again.

Being with Carlo feels more real than anything has in ages, but he has a life back in Boston, and neither of us are a good bet for a relationship.

When Carlo’s enemies come for him, will love be enough to hold us together and help us survive to build a life together?

This is a great addition to this series. Love these men and all of their stories. Love the way Silvia Violet writes. we get all the details and a wonderful story. Michael Dean did/does a great job bringing all of these characters to life. The voices he delivers are what really brings each characters story to life. awesome job!!

Great addition

Good story line. Blade got his happy ending. These two met under odd circumstances but the took a liking for each other right away.

Good story.

It could just be me and my personal dislikes, but this was by far my least favorite addition to the Texas Safehouse series.

Right off the bat, you have a prior POW with severe PTSD who finds a complete stranger and possible attacker looking through his cabin window, then proceeds to shove this stranger and would-be attacker up against the wall, presses a gun to the back of his head, and gets....aroused??? No, just...no.

The rest of the book was just ok, in my opinion, and really kinda boring. The only highlight being when the flu was going around.

I've really enjoyed the series, and, despite this letdown, I'll likely continue on, hoping for a much better book 5.

Michael Dean's narration was phenomenal, as always.
