Couldn’t get enough

I simply could not get enough of this story, could not put it down. The narrators both did a phenomenal job of bringing the characters and story to life. Easy to follow along with regardless of the speed being changed.

Love Hallie Bear and Josh

Loved this friends to lovers story at Fairfield U. I wish the third act situation was a little more drawn out and I felt the sadness or angst a little longer.

Audio went pretty smoothly overall. It would break up every now and again, but I’m not sure if that was my headphone or the recording itself.

Really looking forward to archer and daemon’s story!

Good but not amazing

I really liked Hallie and Josh in the first book so I had high hopes that this book would be a wonderful second for the series. I am a bit underwhelmed. The ending was weird, it felt very anti-climactic after a whole side plot for the majority of the book was Josh’s dad’s scandal(s). The relationship itself was very sweet and I loved their progression.

I've recently become a fan of this author after I read The Puck Secret. It was so freaking good, and this one book was great as well. This really did bring out the childhood crush, friends to lovers tropes. As well as hockey, which is my favorite trope. G. N. Wright is slowly becoming one of my favorite hockey romance authors. Her books are filled with so many delicious scenes, I'm left fanning myself after these dirty talking men are done.

I loved Josh and Hallie's story. This book had not only romance and spice, but had such a great plot that continued on from the first book. If you read the first book, then you know Josh and Maddie's father is awful. Be prepared for how much worse it will get with the daddy dearest.

After Josh takes Maddie's place so she can live a happy life with Nova, Josh is given a list of approved women to choose from a wives. Hallie was on that list, and he knew that he could talk her into helping him take down his father for her best friend.

Hallie has autism, and thrives in having control in her life. She needs it to feel right. Josh needs control when it comes to spicy situations because he doesn't have control over his life. I loved reading how much Hallie trusted Josh because she was willing to hand over her control to him, and really enjoyed not having the pressure on herself during those spicy times.

Josh and Hallie's relationship throughout their lives was such a beautiful thing to witness. The love she has always had for him 😍 She is willing to do anything for the people she loves and she has always loved Josh. We get in the first book glimpse of their relationship, which really isn't one. They barely talked since she arrived at college. Josh shut her out and for good reasons in his mind, but since his sister is also Hallie's best friend, they crossed paths often. Their dynamic was fun to read.

Hallie is funny, and had such a quick/smart mouth when it came to Josh. Her sass was A++ and she always gave as good as she got, but only to those she's close with. Other times, she closed up and the author describes why that happens when it came to her autism. You can tell the author knew what she was writing when it came to her character. To her food sceneries and touch aversions, to how she was wired in her brain just a little differently. How Josh never treated her differently, and was always there to protect her. With our without her knowledge. His love for her was beautiful, even if he didn't know that it was love he was feeling.

The narrators were amazing as always. They also did the first book and Liam's voice is delicious. I love his gravelly, growly voice. He really does do amazing job reading dirty mouth scenes 🥵🥵 so does Jaclyn in her boy voice. I could listen to these two read a romance book all day and never tire of it.

I definitely recommend reading this book. It can be read as a standalone, but it is part of this series. My personal opini6 is that this book wasn't as good as Nova and Maddie's, but that is a hard book to touch in my mind. You get to see these two all throughout this book and how much Nova still gets on Josh's bad side. Only now that Josh is married to Hallie, the rest of the team gets on his nerves from how close they are to Hallie. You get new characters, good and bad, and a new sibling. You also get me dynamic between Archer and Damon (book 3). You get to see Damon more in this book because he is Josh's great friend and roommate. I'm ready for their story and you get a teaser of it at the end of this book in the ending credits chapter... and it's spicy!!
