In the aftermath of Prince Rhun's death, King Owain and King Madog agreed their children should marry as a way to seal the peace between them. Another entertaining adventure in medieval Wales! Gareth and Gwen and their extended family are loveable, believable characters I follow avidly. This story of an investigation into the death of a dog was interesting, funny, perilous, and tugged at the heartstrings. A few sections felt repetitive and could have been summarized or shortened. Something was off about the audio, and the only way I can describe it is that it sounds like the narration was deliberately slowed down after recording. It was also more challenging for me to keep up with the characters while listening versus reading also. However, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next one!

Through all the previous Gareth & Gwen novels I wanted a different narrator. Well I got my wish but not in a good way. This narration is so slow paced I thought I'd scream. His use of proper welsh pronunciation would be appealing if he didn't pause before every welsh word. I liked the story but can't listen to this guy again.

After listening and enjoying the previous 12 books, I was shocked that they changed the narrator! He's horrible! He sounds like a child just learning to read! Also, his Welsh pronunciation of the character names was so different from the previous books that I had to look up which person he was referring to. A disastrous choice to change narrators!
