Publisher's summary

For those who are weary of Christian cliché and compromise crowding out what was supposed to be good news, The Naked Gospel offers the fresh take on the story of Jesus you've been waiting for.

As a university student, Andrew Farley found himself physically and emotionally addicted to street evangelism and Bible study. Yet despite his fervid behavior, he knew something was missing.

That something was an understanding of the gospel that is stripped of the churchy jargon and hypocrisies of the modern church. The Naked Gospel finds kindred spirits among those who are burned out on experience-chasing, ceremonialism, or legalism. It dismantles churchy jargon and powerless ideas and puts forth a message that is simple but life changing:

Jesus plus nothing. 100% natural. No additives.

The Naked Gospel is an invitation to dive deep into the indispensable, powerful core of the Christian faith. Are you ready?

Life Transforming teaching!

This is the single most effective teaching of the scriptures I have ever read. I kept having to pause it and exclaim out loud! It's so simple and logical that it almost feels foolish! Thank you God for gifting Andrew with this understanding and ability to teach it. I will never be the same.

Eye opening

Incredible book that focuses on what the Bible truly says rather than what most American preachers believe it says. It is great to hear a simple understanding of the Gospel put forth by Andrew Farley. I’ll be reading more of his books.

Great reminder of the Gospel!!!

This book was really enjoyable!!!

The power of the Gospel is explained in a simple and biblical manner in this book.
Sometimes the church or religion seems to complicate or add to the Gospel.
This book was a great reminder of how simple and powerful the Gospel really is.

Good read for those trapped in legalism!

Good read for those trapped in legalism! I don't necessarily agree with all of the authors interpretations of scripture, but it was a good take on how you can get trapped in legalism or wrong teaching taken out of context, thanks Andrew!!

Great!

A step toward understanding the Bible's message for perhaps the first time. Legalism hates this message because it Liberates the captives by showing what Christ has really done for them in the Gospel! Satan hates this for the same reasons. Be Free for once; so you can Worship, and mean it!

This will make you free

Andrew delivers a timely , well thought out apologetic for the true message of the new testament .

The modern parables that he uses really help to get the point across .

The narration in this book is okay but not the best I have heard ! Well worth the listen !

Not my favorite

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, not on audio anyway. The reader of the book was awful. He sounded like a game show host, which when reading a book on Christ makes it even more awful.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something in fiction.

What didn’t you like about Don Reed’s performance?

I did not like anything about this performance. Thought it was bad. Sorry Don.

Do you think The Naked Gospel needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes and no about the follow-up. I'm not sure that I agree with everything Farley has to say. This is a book I would feel better actually reading, as opposed to listening to it, so that I can go back and do my own research on some things Farley brings up.

Any additional comments?

I don't think Andrew Farley's book is "dangereous" l but I can see where his Naked Gospel could be confusing to some. I think he has some good points but they need to be flushed out better than they were in the book.
