About this listen

Miracles are happening. Pray to God they stop.

In the dead of winter, on a highway in Quebec, a man crashes his car and survives. In New York, a homeless person is run over by a bus and lives. In Tokyo, a teenager jumps off a high rise building and fails in taking her own life. All over the world, miracles like these transpire, and people breathe a sigh of relief.

But for the next week, some people will begin to suspect a terrible truth. A handful will even search for it. One man will find it.

And in seven days, all hell will break loose.

Note: Graphic violence and language.

I absolutely adore the Mountain Man Series and am waiting for the next book. This book has the same features that I enjoy from previous Keith C. Blackmore books. Despicable, loveable characters, crass humor, violence, fast action and tears.

To address the reader, P.J. Ochlan. It's true that at the beginning of the book I was disappointed by the monotone. However, somewhere in the book I realized that he was great. Characters began having their own voices and personality.

Don't let any misgivings stop you from listening to this book. It is worth it!

Better that I thought

I loved this book, Keith always knocks it out of the park. A lot of people bash this narrator. Hes kinda like Sean Runnette, he just takes a little time to grow on you. Dont miss out on an amazing book.

awesome

The best part about this book was the subject. I wasn’t sure about the first few chapters but then 1/4 of the way through when I began to understand what the author was trying to convey, it was GENIUS! Really enjoyed it. Did not however enjoy the narrator. While he did a great job with the character’s voices, his regular voice and how he read was annoying.

Great Read

I'm going to agree with the other guy why I the hell does the aurthor talk about balls dicks and assholes every other word. I don't mind a book with cussing but it seems like he's just adding cuss words for no reason.

Good story but

I have to say the narrator is inexperienced but the book is excellent. Push through it; it is a story worth knowing.

Poetic Personification

I loved this book. It was unique, imaginative and down right creepy as hell at times. Cons: some of the characters were just idiots. I found myself saying “oh, come on!” more than once after some dialog exchanges.
Pros: I never lost interest along the way & some of the descriptions of the horror that takes place in this book was deliciously gruesome and vivid. Definitely a fabulous scary story.

Great story

Like many others have said, trying to enjoy this book is difficult with this narrator. Its like listening to a story being told by the moviefone guy. But I have been listening to Blackmore's other books narratorated by R. C. Bray, who is awesome, so maybe the bar is set a little high....
Its a slow burn so far (only at chapter 12) but I'll give it a chance.

Trying to enjoy this but...

I loved the theme; it made me think about life and death. Loved, loved, loved the characters and accents. Especially the Newfie and Frank; Frank was one cool dude and funny as heck. I could have listened to the Newfie as a narrator! I was sorry it ended and wanted more.

It's true that the narrator had vocal fry at the beginning, but it either stopped or I didn't notice anymore. I thought his vocals were varied and were good matches with the characters.

Loved the Story, Loved the Narrator

At first I wasn't too sure about this book. After a few hours I was starting to feel like it was an adult version of that kids' movie Inside Out. I'm glad I kept going. It turned out to be a really good book. It was different, but good. The narrator is one I've never heard before, but did a very good job. Keith C. Blackmore hasn't disappointed me yet. I'm waiting for more of the Breeds series. I hope he continues with that one for sure. Anyhow, I do recommend this book. Just give it some time and you'll see.

Good book and quite entertaining.
