About this listen

Miracles are happening. Pray to God they stop.

In the dead of winter, on a highway in Quebec, a man crashes his car and survives. In New York, a homeless person is run over by a bus and lives. In Tokyo, a teenager jumps off a high rise building and fails in taking her own life. All over the world, miracles like these transpire, and people breathe a sigh of relief.

But for the next week, some people will begin to suspect a terrible truth. A handful will even search for it. One man will find it.

And in seven days, all hell will break loose.

Note: Graphic violence and language.

Trying to enjoy this but...

Like many others have said, trying to enjoy this book is difficult with this narrator. Its like listening to a story being told by the moviefone guy. But I have been listening to Blackmore's other books narratorated by R. C. Bray, who is awesome, so maybe the bar is set a little high....
Its a slow burn so far (only at chapter 12) but I'll give it a chance.

Loved the Story, Loved the Narrator

I loved the theme; it made me think about life and death. Loved, loved, loved the characters and accents. Especially the Newfie and Frank; Frank was one cool dude and funny as heck. I could have listened to the Newfie as a narrator! I was sorry it ended and wanted more.

It's true that the narrator had vocal fry at the beginning, but it either stopped or I didn't notice anymore. I thought his vocals were varied and were good matches with the characters.

Good book and quite entertaining.

At first I wasn't too sure about this book. After a few hours I was starting to feel like it was an adult version of that kids' movie Inside Out. I'm glad I kept going. It turned out to be a really good book. It was different, but good. The narrator is one I've never heard before, but did a very good job. Keith C. Blackmore hasn't disappointed me yet. I'm waiting for more of the Breeds series. I hope he continues with that one for sure. Anyhow, I do recommend this book. Just give it some time and you'll see.

Roller coaster book

So slow at first I stopped listening and moved on to another book. Picked it back up much later and the storyline began to get much better. Overall, an interesting premise for a story Makes you think of death a little differently maybe. A lot of extended and very graphic violence though.

Keeps building and building

I’m a big fan of Keith C. Blackmore stories. This one was good, but nothing compared to the mountain man series. I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrator. I was difficult to hang in there at times. But his style was probably necessary given the large number of characters and constant action.

I wanted to keep listening

Odd, kickass, funny, sad, and strangely awesome. I was unsure about the narrator at the very beginning, but glad I stayed with it because he was awesome.

Fun and interesting but horribly unpolished

The story is good despite the low quality of writing. The narration isn’t great. Numerous mispronunciations. Which is crazy. You are a professional narrating a book. If you don’t know a word, look it up rather than just guessing at the pronunciation. Wheres the director or producer??
