This book was wonderful didn’t think I would love it but I am going to be listening to this book again and again.

Audio was sooo good! Lot's of spice

Overall, adorable and sweet and a bit overly "I love you" mushy. Narration was amazing. A heart-warming, no angst book with LOTS of spicy hot scenes.

Spice level: 3-4. Tons of spicy, in depth scenes, with some kink and very descriptive. 4 because I consider a 3 to be things that everyone would like and this one gets a bit more than standard basic vanilla spicy in the scenes ( no BD$M or non-consent issues, but let's say all areas of the body are explored).

Writing: well written. The way their bond started had me hooked. It was cute, sweet and fiesty. Age gap of 20 years is a bit much for me, but it's a story, so who cares. Story stays consistent through-out with no grammatical errors or plot inconsistencies. The secondary characters add depth and emotion. Spicy scenes were VERY hot and quite frequent after they go together. That, along with how good the narration is, will likely get you hot and bothered. It did go past falling in love and some conflict with other characters, all of the way to the wedding. So it felt a bit dragged out, but had substance as to why, so good value for the price. I liked that there was no stupid 3rd act break-up. Any conflict to create tension, came from outside their direct relationship.
Small annoyances (small spoilers):
Baby girl was used waaaay too much, but a small thing and no biggie. A couple of over the top, eye-rolling gestures. Like why did he have to pretty 3 planes so she could pick her favorite, vs just showing her all 3 to pick?? Any why pay someone who has a gambling problem and treated her badly half a million dollars directly, vs just paying off the debt directly, to make sure it was paid off or why even offer that much, when it shows later on he has the power and influence to address him other ways. It was justified that he was doing it because he knows she wouldn't want anyone hurt, but just over the top.

Good

This books wasn't like most of them ...wherein you're telling the female NO don't do that, don't be so stupid and not head the warning of your man, just cause he's the man. It glowed nicely.

I swear everything that @ellenicollauthor writes is just perfect, and Sterling & Halliday’s story had me captivated from the very beginning!

@theo_and_madi did a wonderful job bringing Sterling and Halliday to life! Their voices are exactly what I pictured as I read along. These narrators delivered a perfect audiobook performance.

Sterling is a caring, sweet man who falls fast and hard for Halliday. Halliday is so sweet and dedicated to her task of finding Sterling a match. But when she develops feelings for him and their relationship progresses, sparks fly.

Sterling is the definition of a swoony MMC who had me hot and bothered 🥵 Their emotional and physical connection was off the charts. I immediately fell in love with their story.

The plot and character development are beautifully written! This story is equally emotional and so spicy! Highly recommend adding 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝓪𝓽𝓬𝓱𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓻 to your TBR!

I can’t wait to read more of this series and anything that the incredible Elle Nicoll writes 🖤

Enjoyed

Overall I really enjoyed the book. The plot was good, the dynamics between characters, including secondary characters left me looking forward to the next book in the series. While this story was fine as a standalone, there were a couple of things that could be expanded on in the next book.
Both narrators did a good job and brought their characters to life. I would have liked to see a little less breathlessness in the female narrator.
I don’t usually read books with this much of an age gap between the two main characters but this one works. I recommend it.

All of the dates she set up failed … why ?? Did they expect to have sparks flying between the both of them ?? Absolutely NOT … BUT that’s exactly what happened … he said NO MORE BLIND DATES ! I want YOU ! ;) the tension , angst and chemistry is electric !

His first marriage was more an obligation than anything else … she CHOSE HIM ! Her first choice was always HIM ❤️
