Amazing story

Sinful vows is a mafia age gap romance and dual POV narration which I love!! Might I also add that the narratiors both have beautiful Irish accents, it makes the books 100% more appealing. The story starts 5 years in the past with Darcy getting left at the pub by her friend so she sneaks a key at the inn and goes to sleep. But is woken by a large handsome man who asks why she’s in his bed. Her body comes alive at the sight of him and she decides that this older man is who will be her first even if he’s gone back to the States the next day. Back to the present and Ewan is back in Ireland to bring a woman with Quinlan blood to strengthen family ties. The twists and turns and yearning in this book is too notch. There’s tension, drama, desire, longing and a HEA at the end of this amazing book.

Forbidden Age Gap Mafia Romance

Sinful Vows by Deborah Garland is a forbidden age gap secret child mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lexi Evans, DB West, and Troy Duran. This is the first book in the Astoria Royals series.

I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Ewan and Darcy. It was extremely messy, but I couldn't help but root for them. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Lexi Evans, DB West, and Troy Duran did an amazing job on the narration. I loved that they performed this book as a duet narration. It really brought the story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a mafia romance, forbidden romance, age gap romance, or dark romance.

Meant to Be!!

Sinful Vows by Deborah Garland is the first book in the Astoria Royals series. As of right now there are 6 books in the series with the 7th releasing on July 19, 2024. The audio of Sinful Vows was released recently as well as a new edition, June 30, 2024. I am reviewing the audio but the review will stand for the ebook as well.

Sinful Vows is the story of Ewan and Darcy. Ewan is a hitman for the Irish mafia and Darcy is well, she is his kin, let’s just leave it at that. Darcy lives in Ireland and has a chance meeting with Ewan, five years later and he comes back and changes her life. Ewan needs a wife for his best friend and boss. He finds Darcy and she is the only age-appropriate Quinlan left to marry off. After a rainstorm and being stuck in the house together things change not just for Darcy but for Ewan.

I enjoyed this story. I would recommend heeding the authors trigger warnings. There is sudo-incest and a secret child. So if either of those are not your cup of tea, skip this one. However, if you are like me and have no triggers check this one out. It is a pretty quick and easy read and it made me eager to read the rest of the Astoria Royals series. I hope to get a bit more of Ewan and Darcy in the series. I enjoyed their internal struggles and the push and pull between the two of them.

I rated this story four stars. It didn’t have any kind of surprises or “it” factors that would make it a five star read for me but it is good nonetheless and worth reading! I listened to an ALC (advanced listener copy) of this story and I liked the narration. I am a big audiobook listener so I have a lot of experience with good and bad narration. This narration is good and since I am not Irish and am not very familiar with the accent I thought it was presented well by the narrators. It is also a dual narration which you don’t hear much of and I liked it!

So, if you don’t mind the triggers, like the tropes, and like an accent check this one out!!

Great Irish accents 🔥

Another book that I enjoyed from Deborah but,I have to admit that I liked Savage King a little better.

Darcy and Ewen meet in the sinfulness of ways and ened up making a permanent connection. 5 years later when Ewen goes to Ireland to get a wife for his boss,he finds Darcy again. The lust and chemistry is still there between them, enough where he finds it's too hard to let her go.

The forbidden aspect was just right,I found myself yelling "she's not really related by blood!" 😂.
If you like all the tropes and a short story with smallish plot then will love this read . Guaranteed with a sweet happy ending🖤

one night stand

This is a compelling story of life in the mafia and a one-night stand. I could not wait to see how this book ended. It does contain some violence and rape that occurred in the past, not with the main characters. Darcy spent one night with a man she did not know. Five years later he is back to talk her into marrying his best friend.

What a messy relationship we have here! Ewan and Darcy turn out to be relatives! What Ewan doesn’t know is that Darcy is not a blood relative and has a child now! He is unaware that this child belongs to him due to an accident. Ewan is very protective of Darcy and will do anything and everything to keep her safe. He finds it very hard to give her up to his best friend who needs a wife.

What happens when the truth comes out and all the secrets are revealed? Loved getting both points of view and really made the story better.

Fantastic

This audio book was amazing. I give it a 4.5 but they don't give me that option on this rating scale. The sexy scenes were perfect and defiantly had the reader sweating with excitement. She really has a great ability to write the spice in her books. You really feel for Ewan as he becomes more and more attached to Darcy understanding that he is supposed to give up Darcy to as an offering to the Irish Mob Boss. the close relationship these two develop have you wanting Ewan to be able to stay with Darcy and her daughter. The trauma that Darcy goes through in her past has you really wanting her to have her own happily ever after. The question remains the bond these two develop will it be the beginning of a romance of a lifetime or their undoing? This book was so easy to devour, and the audio version made it come to life even more. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Troy Duran is the perfect Laughlin! The Irish mafia is just perfection. The way I am SWOONING !!! This was so fun to listen to! The FMC is a virgina slim and Ahhhh!!! Must listen

Great read

If you like listening to Irish accents do yourself a favor and grab this audiobook! Lexi and DB did an amazing job telling this story! I loved the way they voiced Darcy and Ewan. There are some very emotional scenes and I loved listening to them. This story also has humor and of course some very steamy scenes too!
