Usually Not My Cup of Tea

At nearly seventy years I have read thousands of books from the ancient classics, modern classics, every genre, and finally decided to read modern stories of today's world. Finally received my degree in 2015, where I met Dr. Martha Michieka a professor at ETSU who introduced me to a wonderful world of literature from Africa.

Because of my introduction to literature from Africa, I began to seek more novels and short stories from all over our wonderful planet. The Magnificent Ruins is window where I could look and learn about people and places I had never been able to vivo first hand. Love the story and the charismatic people I learned to love and dislike.

Looking for another novel by Nayantara Roy to listen to while I work on various projects for my grandchildren. Thank you.

Two worlds

I loved the independence and humility of the main character. It was so interesting learning about Indian culture

story was great! the only thing was the narrator had a type of staccato lilt when narrating but not when doing the voices of the characters.

Spoke to my heart

I loved this book, and I know I will listen to it again. A book of understanding and healing of relationships and self. As a woman listening to this book, I am reminded of the power of women and how we shape our next generation for good and for bad. How our barriers born of generations, shape us in ways we wish they hadn’t. I love the back drop of Indian culture.

Boring

Another book that I regret buying on one of the sales. At least with using the credits they can be returned.
