a really neat historical fiction book about the struggles of womanhood , sisterhood and societies predjiduces. good insight , good performance, good story . kind of like memoirs of a Geisha kind of like joy luck club , but it's own. you gotta read /listen to it you'll like it

Life in China in the 1890's
Little Flower and Linjing's lives are entwined and interwoven from when they are little girls to womanhood. Little Flower is Linjing's slave when they are growing up. Through tragedy and small triumphs, their circumstances and station in life change. Reading about life in China in the late 1890's was fascinating but even better was the theme of empowerment. Highly recommend
