The End was just the beginning of the new world…
Only six weeks have passed since a super-EMP attack devastated the United States, but already, life has changed dramatically. Most of America has become a wasteland filled with starving bands of people, mobs and gangs. Millions are dead and millions more are suffering, with no end in sight.
For Gordon, Samantha, Sebastian, Cruz, and Barone, the turmoil and chaos they dealt with in the early weeks after the attack will seem trivial in comparison to the collapse of society that plays out before their eyes. Uncertainty abounds as they all travel different paths in search of a safe place to call home. The only thing that is definite is that The Long Road will take its toll on all of them.

If you could sum up The Long Road - A Post Apocalyptic Novel in three words, what would they be?
A great story leading into another story. I love this series. What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator started off reading this book really fast. Just as I was irritated and almost put it down the problem was fixed and it became the enjoyable read just I was hoping for, as the first book.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Story made me laugh and cry as I grew attached to the charactersAny additional comments?
I couldnt wait for the next book! Was not disappointed by this book at all. I am glad that the initial issue of the narrator reading too fast was fixed. I recommend this book and the entire series!I am glad I waited it out! Not to be disappointed!

Just survival, but how they build America. The story does get confusing at some points multiple story lines going on at once.
Very good book

What did you love best about The Long Road - A Post Apocalyptic Novel?
For those who enjoy a vivid apocalyptic survival based journey you will not be disappointed, but CAUTION - YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF SLEEP. This story, books one and two, my fellow end of times story seekers, took me on a vividly written and narrated journey that started when I hit the play button and ended when the nice man from Audible thank me for my purchase. To the person who masterfully describe ever evolving happiness, sadness, hopefulness, disparity, anger, and compassion thank you and very nicely done you incredible word putter together-er!Who was your favorite character and why?
I can't, too many to list.Which character – as performed by Joseph Morton – was your favorite?
All around good job.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Book two, father faces the unthinkable.Any additional comments?

Not sure why some of the negative reviews are so strident. I'm guessing there's some kind of prepper forum somewhere with prepping geeks fighting about overly nuanced details of such a story - kind of like star wars nerds obsessing about similar petty details in that story.
Regardless, it's a good book. Not overdone one way or another, not too brutal, not too sappy. It actually reads like something out of the fall of Rome. The author has drawn on real life history and how cities would become isolated little city-states, generals would go rogue with their entire armies in tow, and so on.
Good Book
