About this listen

Delaney Hagen's power to control lightning is unique, even among witches. That uniqueness has caused her to run and hide from her kind - and the other supernatural beings in the world. Finally, after years of running, she feels safe enough to settle down. But her life's calm is completely destroyed when her best friend is murdered.

Delaney teams up with the mysterious and sexy Reid Jamison to figure out just what is going down in her world. Delaney will have to make a choice between her life and love. Will she be the product of a prophecy, or will her fate be changed?

Reid Jamison knew this case wouldn't be easy. But with the money the coven was throwing at him, how could he say no? When he met Delaney Hagen, his whole world began to unravel. Faced with a prophecy, murders, love, and betrayal, will Reid be able to hang on to this new world? Or will it slip away?

Good Story

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. The main character cussed too much and the story could have done without cussing at all. in fact, it would have been better. The one thing that I don't understand is why do authors like using silly sayings...Holy hot sauce batman! Those things take away from the story too. And one more piece of unsolicited advise, use contractions. Narrators falter when contractions aren't used and it sounds weird. Regardless, I really enjoyed the storyline and thought the narrator did a good job.

A hit debut novel!

I would this book based on the cover. I thought it was gorgeous but I figured that is was a young adult book. I upgraded to the audible version and listened away. I quickly found out that is not a ya book at all. It didn't bother me because I found myself engrossed in the story. I like the concept of an extraordinary witch and a witch's council. I thought it was great. You add in a hot werewolf and you have a recipe for a hot hook up. My favorite part was in the beginning when she blew up the register at her job. I was laughing so hard that I snorted. It was amazing. I look forward to reading more from this author.
