About this listen

Charlotte Lucas marries Mr. Collins, a man she can neither love nor respect, but what more can a plain-faced girl with no dowry hope for?

When Mr. Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam visit Lady Catherine, Charlotte and the Colonel conspire to help Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy reach an understanding before the visit ends. In the process, Charlotte falls in love with the Colonel, and learns that he cares for her as well! Alas, their love is doomed, as Charlotte is very much married.

When Mr. Bennet dies, Charlotte and Mr. Collins soon find themselves living at Longbourn. But life at Longbourn is far more complicated than they ever imagined, as Mrs. Bennet refuses to leave the house, and Lydia Bennet arrives on their doorstep very pregnant, but not married.

While the Darcys, the Bingley and the Gardiners do their best to help Charlotte deal with the troubles at Longbourn, it is ultimately up to Charlotte – plain, sensible Charlotte – to set things right.

This is a full-length novel of over 90,000 words.

Captivating story

I was wrapped up in the book from the beginning. This was the best virtual narration I have listened to so far.
The writing was excellent. I felt as if Charlotte was talking to me personally. Charlotte is the star and Lydia turns out to be the costar. The writer does a masterful job bringing all the familiar characters to life. Most characters are somewhat different than I anticipated but usually in a good or better than expected way. Don’t miss listening to this book- I predict you will love it.

This was a cute story line, not at all stressful and if was engaging. I’ll probably listen to it again

113 Chapters in 9 Hours

I keep trying new authors and new electronic "readers". Had this been a great story it might have been worth it. Alas, it was only average.

Horrifically selfish Darcys, Bingleys, Gardners, etc.

"Let's dump spoiled, angry Mrs. Bennet on the Collins. We sure don't want to be bothered with her." Basically, that's the storyline. And after Fanny reeks havoc, just wait until Lydia shows up out of nowhere. What a s**t show.
