Good if you think of this as a mystery
The virtual narration is of course, nowhere near as good as a real voice actor. The plot is pretty interesting, especially if you think of this as a mystery novel, not as a regency era novel. There were some things like Elizabeth staying at Rosings without a chaperone that would not have been true at the time but who cares it’s a fun romp.

Original story.
The virtual voice drags the overall experience down. But some of that was actually funny.
I really like this author’s writing. She writes insightful passages, both verbal and interior dialogue that I enjoy reading. The mystery kept me listening to find out how the murder was carried out, we were all pretty sure who dunnit. I came to really appreciate Lady Catherine here, or sympathize with her.
The story could be tightened up just a smidge.
It’s going to come down to whether you will tolerate the virtual voice. It’s not going away. I’m not fond of it. My reason for listening won’t sway anyone. But it’s great JAFF.
