Another great story by Robyn Carr

What a giving story, it had its challenging moments, but it was still a story about forgiveness and love, and it will make you feel good at the end.
There are few authors that I automatically buy and listen to because they are real and uplifting stories with caring and loving people in them and Robyn Carr is one of them. I start with Virgin River and have read almost all of her stories and have never regretted it.

An okay piece of fluff

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Decent story. As another reviewer wrote, it reminded me of a Hallmark (or maybe Lifetime) movie, only in book form.

If you’ve listened to books by Robyn Carr before, how does this one compare?

I'd never heard of her before.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I wouldn't pay money to see it in a theater but, if I came across it on cable, I'd probably watch it.

Another great book by Robyn Carr

As always an audiobook from Robyn Carr left me feeling great even though the story copes with a lot of difficult issues- but the way Robyn Carr writes and the way Therese Plummer narrates makes the whole audiobook experience SO great!
I love the way Therese Plummer narrates and the more books I listen to with her as the narrator the more I just love her cool calm voice and her ability to make different voices - she is definitely the best narrator for Robyn Carrs audiobooks.
I rarely give 5 stars, and even more seldom 5 stars for both book and narration but I just love the combination of Robyn Carr and Theresa Plummer and they keep getting high rates from me!!!

Predicting but pleasant

The story line itself is heartwarming, predictable but heartfelt. Has a good moral and overall conclusion. Adult fiction with young adult writing. Had to overlook the overuse of “she said” often and felt the “male” voice was cheesy and took away from the characters. Overall I would say it was a good pastime book and suggest a friend read in leisure.

That voice though...

The story was pretty good, but it was narrated as though it was a preschool book. Like nails on a chalkboard.

Robyn Carr presents a well written, convoluted mess. With a happy ending.

My, limited, experience suggests that it is more difficult for a female to cover male roles, than it is for a male to cover female roles. Regardless, Therese Plummer narrates perfectly.

lifetime hallmark movie in audio form

struggled to finish this book, the main characters just annoyed me... neither woman seemed to actually be in their 30s and took more punishment than they should have. while I wasn't a fan of this book i do like the author's overall writing style and prose

Friends

I love Therese Plummer's voice in the books she narrates. It is really suited to stories like The Life She Wants. This is women's fiction featuring two friends who had a major falling out 15 years ago. Now events have brought them back where their orbits once again intersect. A story line with fairly stock characters and a familiar plot but still one most readers will enjoy. There were some very powerful scenes that struck a cord with me even as I knew what would happen.
