About this listen

My father has been kidnapped by my worst enemies. Either that, or he willingly sold me out to them.

Whatever the case, I’m going to find him. Mind you, this would be a lot easier if every Fae in Chicago wasn’t already out for my blood.

They’re not getting it, though.

The only one who’s getting anywhere near my blood is the 700-year-old vampire who saved me. Yes, there are times when I’m convinced he’s not quite right in the head, but so far he’s the only supernatural being I’ve met who sees me as a person rather than a chess piece.

To the rest of them, I’m nothing more than the walking, talking evidence of a war crime. To him, I’m something else. He calls me a loose thread in the tapestry of his forgotten past, but he looks at me like I might be the key to his future.

The rest of them tell me I’m demonkin. They say I’m a succubus-human hybrid who shouldn’t exist.

One thing is very clear, though. My father is carrying a secret bigger than I ever dreamed, and I’m damn well going to pry it out of him.

I just have to get him back from the Fae first. Because, hey - what could possibly go wrong?

The Last Vampire is a steamy urban fantasy romance series from USA Today best seller R. A. Steffan and Jaelynn Woolf, coauthors of the Circle of Blood saga.

Download book two today, and return to a world shared by humans, fae, demons, and one very reluctant vampire. It’s a place where the supernatural threatens the mundane, nothing is as it seems, and love will be either the world’s downfall or its salvation.

A Visit to the Fae

This second book picks up where the first finished and if you haven't read or listened to book one then you really should in order to have any idea of what is going on. The Last Vampire, may be the title of the books but the main character is Zorah, a 26-year-old part human, part succubus who until a few days ago thought she was completely human. In this part of the story, we learn a little more about both the fae and the demons.

Zorah’s father is still missing and despite the fact that he has virtually ignored her for years she needs to find him, firstly to ensure that he is ok and secondly to try and discover if he really was on her side or if he betrayed her to the fae. Without telling Rans, knowing he would not approve, she decides to ask one of Rans’s contacts to help her search for her father. What happens next is both frightening and chilling. She is transported to Dine, where the fae court resides, she is tortured but somehow doesn't break. Just when you think that Zorha has reached the end of the line Rans rescues her, but his method of doing so could come back to bite both of them in the future.

For someone that until a few days ago was a weak and sickly human Zorah is fast becoming a “strong” heroine. willing to risk all for those she cares about. Whilst Rans continues to be the strong and mostly silent part of the equasion, but always there for her.

Although the title of the series is The Last Vampire, Zorha takes the lead in this book but Rans does play a vital role. Rans is a vampire like no other and if you listen to these books you will see why, that said, I really like his character.

Gwendolyn Druyor again gives an incredible performance bringing so much depth to the characters. I love the way every emotion and nuance comes through in her voice, the way the characters come alive!

This is a paranormal romance featuring fae, demons, a succubus, and yes, Rans our lone vampire. The writing style is excellent, the descriptive qualities in the story are very well done and if I closed my eyes I could see everything so vivid were the descriptions. This book too ends on a cliffhanger and you will definitely want to listen to the next book. In fact, I have already downloaded it and will be listening to it as soon as I have finished this review.

Wow

Zorah decides to take a chance on the Fae that hate her in order to find out if her father is okay or someone who is working for them. They believe she shouldn’t exist but the one vampire left is in love with her. Finding that there had been a battle long going and secrets the far are hiding Zorah is literally caught in the middle of trying to find out what’s been hidden from her all her life. I received this book for free but the opinion is of my own.

Great read, great series!

AS GOOD AS THE FIRST BOOK IN THIS SERIES WAS THIS IS EVEN BETTER! My second read from author R.A. Steffan. Typically I'm not a fan of vampire stories but this one was so well-written and enjoyable that I look forward to the third book in the series, and the narrator...incredible. I was provided with an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

The Last Vampire: Book Two

Action packed book two of The Last Vampire series. This book builds on what was presented in the first book, so I’d recommend reading/listening to that book first. There are some pretty steamy scenes, but what do you expect from a part succubus.

Very interesting storyline with a great narration by Gwendolyn Druyor.

Great story!

The authors have written another great story full of mystery, angst, humor, drama and suspense. It seems the more we read/hear, and the more answers we get, the more questions and mysteries there are. As Zorah goes in search of her father and answers to who she is and if he was her savior or betrayer, she ends up in over her head - way over her head. I don't mean to give any spoilers, but she experiences brutal torture at the hands of her fae captors that was almost too painful for me to listen to. I may be a softie, but I thought potential listeners should know that parts of the story are grim and traumatic. That said, she is rescued and a dramatic truth about Rans' existence is revealed. Overall, I enjoyed the book, I love the series, and I eagerly await answers to the remaining questions in the concluding volume 3 to come.

The narration was excellent. Ms. Druyor really captures the mood of the story and the emotions of the characters. She provides individualized and appropriate voices for the characters from Rans' brooding to Zarah's drunk routine to the ethereal cat fae.

Great Series & Audible Listen🎧 4.5🌟Amazing🌟Stars🌟

R.A. Stefan & Jaelyn Woolf continues bring it to this great series. They take you further into the imaginative world they created with even more fascinating & interesting storylines with a lot of drama, action, twists and so steamy romance between the two leads. It is great to learn more about Zorah and Rans, as well as the dynamics of their world. I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens next. I thank the authors for this great story!

very impressive.

R.A .Steffan is a new name in the Vampire world but will soon be up there with Anne Rice . Keep going . so much to understand about the worlds of our "beloved " ancestors. Life is too short to not enjoy a good book with fun characters.

Book 2 you need book 1 as it continues

Flock review. This book is even better than the first, Ran and Zorah story picks up where book one left, and it gets way interesting. The storyline continues and the pace picks up, more action, and definitely more things going on. The audiobook definitely is an option, the narrator is the same as book one, Gwendolyn Druyor and she does a fantastic job narrating all characters, I would suggest the audiobook more than the book.

Meh on the Story, but would continue listening

I received an Audible code for an honest review via Audiobook Boom. There was no compensation made in the making of this review. Everything that follows is my opinion and mine alone. As the title says, this is book two in an urban fantasy paranormal romance. It starts closely after the events of the first book. As with the last audiobook, the narrator did a good job and I did like the story. It just wasn't the best. I actually preferred book one in comparison.Book Two did reveal more of the fae world and introduced a political dynamic between the Fae and Demons. The world expansion was interesting. That said, everything else just seemed to be less. That isn't to say that I won't listen or read Book three, I hope to. I just don't think this one was as good as Book One.Final Rating: 2/5
