About this listen

For the first 11 years of their lives, neighbors Lila and Gavin were inseparable best friends. They did everything together. Until they didn't.

Every detail of Lila's life has been meticulously planned out since she was a child. To the point where she forgot one vital thing: to live. When she receives news that drastically alters the path of her future, she realizes she has one last chance to create memories and make the most of her summer.

Gavin, on the other hand, is known for his carefree attitude. He has lived a charmed life for almost 18 years. He's never short on friends or a good time, he has a supportive family, and he's all set to go off to college and follow his dreams. The one thing he doesn't have is the girl.

He doesn't know why Lila pushed him away all those years ago, but when Gavin finds her summer bucket list, he's determined to help his Goody Two-shoes neighbor cross off every item and hopefully mend their friendship in the process. Even if that's not all he wants from her.

He just hopes it's not too late.

Amazing!

I’m already a big fan of Cait Marie, and I read this book in digital format. However, the narrator was perfect for this story! She has a great voice and her hint of an accent made the audiobook feel incredibly authentic.

The story is a sweet, wholesome romance with hints of heavier things, but it never gets to be too much. I fell in love with Lila and Gavin all over again!

Such a cute, fun story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cute, fun, but also touching YA romance. In fact, it sucked me in completely and I listened to it almost all in one sitting, with just a couple short pauses.

I loved the dynamic between Lila and Gavin’s families! I’m a sucker for childhood friends to lovers and this was done super well. The relationship between Lila and Gavin never felt forced or unrealistic.

I have never read a bucket list book before but this made me want to find another. I really want to know what happens next!

So sweet!

Absolutely sweet story! There are definitely intense things that happen, but they're handled in ways that don't make the story overly-heavy. Everything feels real, and the happiness we get at the end is just the cherry on top (oh yeah, there's ice cream...delicious ice cream in this story...you and your cravings have been warned)!

Both Gavin and Lila come to life through Nicole Goode's narration - she was an excellent choice for this project!

Sweet high school romance, a perfect summer read.

This childhood friends to lovers story is filled with adventure and remarkable friendships. It’s also about getting to know yourself, evolving from past feuds to forgiveness, and hope. Yet there is also this dark cloud hanging above the main characters… All of this is combined in a layered plot. Follow Lila and Gavin on their mission to complete her summer bucket list after graduating high school and discover what fate has in store for them. You’ll definitely want to be part of this group of friends.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator really does a great job. She also conveys the dual POV really well.

Cute Story!

I really enjoyed this story. I though that it was cute and heartfelt. I liked the characters and how they grew throughout the book. I was really glad how it ended. The narration was just ok for me nothing special. The tone of her voice was ok but I just felt that even though this book was about young adults she made then sound even more immature and whiny at times than she need to. Overall I am really enjoyed it and I’m glad I decided to listen.
