Narrator makes this book a great listen

I read this book some years ago between the early Sookie books and I was searching for more Charlaine Harris. Ms. Harris has always been a good writer, but the feeling here is very different from Sookie, and for me there was no joy here, just some contentment, and a bit of self-pity. Terese Plummer's reading gives this book a bit of bounce and energy that I didn't enjoy just reading the books. I am so glad I paid attention to audible reviews and downloaded this book.

LOVE this series!

Where does The Julius House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Thank you Charlaine Harris for creating these stories for me to submerge in to. I enjoy your characters and appreciate sharing their lives without having to give advice or listen to their problems. I LOVE being in total control of my visits with them and that makes our times together most enjoyable!

Aurora Teagarden

Another Aurora Teagarden book and they're just perfect cozy little mysteries. sometimes in this book she annoyed me which normally she doesn't but she also was going through it with Martin the secretive husband. still love it and can't wait to read the next one.

Enjoyable Mystery

I enjoyed this story and the twists and turns it took. The narrator's voice was pleasant and she did an excellent job of changing voices when alternating characters.

Better and Better

I fell in love with "Ro" right from the start, but this one was absolutely the best... the ending was an absolute surprise, and I am so disappointed that I don't have a credit until next month to download book #5. I really like this lady!

Great Story! Amazon: FIX THE CHAPTERS!!!

If you think you know how it's going to go bc you watched the Hallmark version so you can skip the book: NO. There is so much more going on in this book, and it's different than the show. Do yourself a favor and read the books! Narrator does a FABULOUS job with the large cast of characters. AMAZON, however, needs fix the chapter breaks! in all the books I have read in this series so far, they all show under 10 chapters, so that "Chapter 1" is actually chapters 1-4! Very maddening for trying to keep an eye on where you are in the book. But, the book itself: VERY GOOD READ! :-)

Godd, detailed descriptions of people and places

This is a story of an entitled southern woman getting everything she wants,no matter the price. But she’s charming about gun running and murder. I enjoyed the story and the narrator

I’ve Really Enjoyed This Series and Liked All of the Characters Until…

I finished The Julius House last night and I was really looking forward to starting Book 5 in this series. If asked I would have categorized this series as a good cozy murder mystery series. The tame typical characters from the earlier books made an interesting counterpoint to Angel & Shelby; like-able non-typical characters introduced in Book 4. I looked forward to getting to know both of them better in future books.
For me, Aurora & Martin’s intense relationship was pivotal in keeping me interested in the series. I envisioned numerous future plots, twists, turns and mysterious deaths for Aurora to solve with Martin’s continued interest and input. I anticipated they would continue to work through the relationship complications caused by Martin’s secretive past. At the end of Book 4 I felt certain Martin was willing to leave parts of his old life behind for a better future with Aurora.
I don’t know if it was a premonition or previous knowledge of Charlaine Harris writing style, but I suddenly wondered this afternoon if Martin was going to die. I asked Siri who stated Martin dies and Aurora moves on. I was so VERY disappointed!
I regret saying goodbye early but I won’t purchase any additional audiobooks in this series. Martin’s death doesn’t fit into my perspective of enjoyable light pleasure fiction.
