Well-written, self-aware, witty, captivating...

This book is fire. I just finished it and have so many thoughts. First of all, I love that it was written by a brilliant lawyer mother (+of color🙌❤). Second, I love that she acknowledges and emphasizes in so many ways the way our society undervalues things that women love. Third, the protagonist is so relatable. Fourth, the book is delicious. The relationship/love story/sex feels decadent. Fifth, Robinne Lee narrates the book and is SO SO GOOD. I need more.

For anyone looking for a good, light, well written, self-aware, witty, captivating, romance with depth, add this to your list. Audible is great, too - perfectly read by the author/actress herself.

Powerful and beautiful love story.

This story took me by surprise. What I initially thought sounded like a “fun story idea” ended up being an engrossing, tender and tragic story of true love. It was exciting and raw and powerful and this was all due to the talent of the author in telling the story of this unlikely pair. The author’s performance on the narration was incredible. Her ability to produce multiple accents, alternate between them fluently and speak so authentically in different languages added to the enjoyment of the story. This was a delight to listen to and hard to hear come to an end. Hoping for a sequel/continuation of this story simply out of my selfish need to continue being a part of these characters lives.

5 STAR BEACH READ

I was so very pleasantly surprised at the intimacy of this story and reader. It's the intimacy like a best friend telling you their most secret story - it felt so personal between me the listener and the storyteller and it added to the intimacy of the story.

Original story, well written and very well narrated. I almost always pass on books where the author narrates their own work - but this is an exception and I am glad I took the chance. She was perfect in narration.

This is definitely a chick book - perhaps best suited to aging women since it touches on so many issues that women have as they age - but not in a bad way - just realistic. Great for a beach/deck read this summer.

A Passionate Fan Fiction of sorts! So so good!!

Wow this book… especially hearing it from the authors voice. You can hear the passion. I don’t even know where to begin. I felt this book so much from my history of reading fan fictions for One Direction, to this. I felt this deep in my soul. I cried over this book. It was one of those for me, in so many good ways. I would highly recommend anyone that loves a good love story and brings you into the lives of the characters, through the good and the bad.

Definitely grows on you

Was hard for me to get past the age difference at first, but also hard to ignore the chemistry. By the middle of the book you forget there is even an age gap.

Didn’t love the ending though. Without giving spoilers, I just wish there was a bit more to the conclusion of the plot.

Passion

I was expecting a different ending. It definitely left me with wanting to hear more. I hope there is a sequel, because this was to good for just one book.

Unbelievable narration by Robin Lee

I loved absolutely everything about this book. I heard the audible twice and I’m still amazed at how well it was red and directed. The book itself is one of my favorites of all time. Thank you for writing about women creative women for no longer 30 something’s.
