Wes is a 13-year-old misfit who loves all things horror and has big dreams of someday becoming a makeup effects artist and movie director. His friend and mentor, a former '80s television horror vixen, Cassondra Dagger, believes in Wes and supports him at every turn.
Cassondra is a true rocker that keeps the '80s and horror alive at her independently owned video store, Titan Videos. But it’s a new decade, the '80s are fading away fast, and the '90s are in full swing. No one is watching horror movies anymore.
Cassondra is finally faced with the fact that if things don’t improve quickly, she will have to shut down her beloved video store for good.
Not willing to accept the news, Wes puts a plan into action to save Titan Videos and his mentor from becoming relics of a bygone era. Armed with his makeup effects skills and backed by his band of outcast companions, Wes sets out to prove that horror still rules, even in 1994.
