Lessons

What made the experience of listening to The Highest Goal the most enjoyable?

The stories in this book lead me back to my NLP training and really help me set my frame of mind. It is good to get reminders about how intention leads to expected outcomes. Very interesting and has some good exercises to engage the reader.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Some very useful information

If you could sum up The Highest Goal in three words, what would they be?

Insightful, practical, thought-provoking

Who was your favorite character and why?

Michael Ray I'd have to say. This guy is a spiritual giant.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

His tone and inflection did not match the text in many instances. The good news is the narrator isn't bad, he's just not necessarily good. You get used to him and his voice leans you slightly the wrong way while still keeping you involved with how calmingly monotone it can be; which sounds funny, but it's true.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. It definitely gave me a lot of "ahah!" moments and I have 6 pages of notes on it. This is definitely a very "hands-on" kind of book, I have yet to see how well all the concepts work, as I have just begun thinking about them and trying to remember them. I cruised through the book in two days, so perhaps I'm not the best one to ask about the emotion of it at this point in time.

Any additional comments?

There is a lot of useful information and life applicable lessons and statements that really could change factors of your overall happiness and success. I really really love a lot of what Michael Ray has to say, it's great; though, if you are not a spiritual kind of person, I would have to say this book is not for you. I feel like every time he states the words "the highest goal", these words could easily be replaced with "God". I assume this was decently intentional as he talks about God a fair amount. So, me being a spiritual person enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to integrating many of the concepts into my life; just know that it is inherently very very spiritual. If you're not into that don't get it. But then again, if you're not into that, I'd recommend you do get into it. If people could pull these concepts into their lives and use them, it would be the healing power for so much of the pain and wrongs in this world.

look for the brief before you buy

so many extra stories that could have been saved by the author...and also the readers voice is badly chosen.
