About this listen
Be careful what you wish for, lest it come true.
Those words have been ringing in Faye’s head ever since the ink dried on her new publishing deal. Facing the most significant stretch of writer’s block she’s ever encountered, Faye finds the words on her page as nothing but passionless dribble. Desperate for answers, Faye checks herself into a notorious haunted house, where she hopes to reignite the muse within. But again, those words ring in her head: Be careful what you wish for.

Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Not much haunting
I kept waiting for the book to be haunting instead it was full of dumb women becoming almost willing victims. i found myself getting irritated at the character's and frankly this book was not a scary ghost story it was more like a teenage horror flick where the girls are almost always dumb as rocks constantly putting themselves in harms way. I finished it because I had listened to long waiting for it to get better a complete waste of a hard earned $$$
