This Will Mess With Your Mind

We have a volunteer who is fairly 'off her rocker' who is giving advice to people who are contemplating ending their lives. The volunteer, instead of telling the suffering people who need her help that they can survive- instead tries to make it then kill themselves. She gives them advice on how the best ways will work, and she's kind of an expert in the field. She is something evil and her husband knows it. He can;t keep her away from their girls even thought she presents so much danger to them all.

It seems the Good Samaritan likes to driver her patients over the brink and revels in their deaths. How does she live this way?


There area secrets buried so deep that they will never see the sun,, but how ,much can just one take..

Ughhhhhh!!!

This book makes me so angry but in a good way! The emotion you feel with the actions of the characters will be so raw and intense. Overall amazing story, amazing narration. John Marrs did it again!

Wow, what a thriller!

I loved this book, the storyline was crazy good, the narration was fantastic, and the Good Samaritan was played out perfectly! This was such a thought out and researched book and I was constantly going “wow, can’t believe how Laura planned everything so well that it worked out like it did, yet totally believable!
Would love to see a follow up on this book just to see if she finally gets her just desserts!
You have to read/ or listen to this book!!!

kept me on the edge of my seat wish for a different ending but I look forward to the authors other books

Disturbing but couldn't quit listening

This is the 3rd book in a row I've listened to by John Marrs..
do not think you are ever getting a "what a good ending, all is right in the world" with this author! His bad guys are the worst of the worst crazies and they do not lose in the typical ending sort of way.
Entertaining but left me feeling icky.
I am going for another!

Fully Engaging

Good story and highly engaging.....especially good for audio as there are few characters and very good (not overly done) character development.

I found myself wishing I could skip meetings so I could listen! Sort of soap opera-ish in that it's a bit over dramatic in terms of the various happenings but not without entertainment value.

The ending however seemed "rushed" as if the author was attempting to wrap it all up quickly.....a bit of a disappointment but again....a very worrhy listen.

Excellent, excruciating thriller. Love the difficult POV (read: not likable and/or unreliable) protagonist. This text relies on narcissistic personality disorders (among others!) and a suicide narrative. Might be triggering for people who are sensitive to such content. I’m really impressed with the author (even as I bite my nails through some of it). Impossible to put down. I found myself asking larger questions about “help” culture, altruism, foster care, and heard The Beatles singing “Ahhhhh, look at all the lonely people” throughout.

WOW! I had so many rollercoaster emotions listening to this audiobook. I had to keep listening wondering what would happen next. Bravo!

A bit of suspense

Hard to get into mind of someone so damaged but author did a good job of working her character. Can’t believe she could get away with it.

Mr. Marrs and his imagination

This is my second John Marrs book, and wow, what a story. I thought this story was very intriguing. A helpline for people who want to end their life, and volunteers who are supposed to be listening and helping , but one volunteer has other plans. The different directions this story took, kept me wanting to hear more. I loved the narrators for this audible. The chaos that the main character caused makes you want to reach through the book and smack her! The reveal at the end does make up for it all though. I will definitely be reading more from John Marrs.
