Publisher's summary
Captured by his own people. Sentenced to death.
When the goblin Aric Bramble is arrested for treason against his people, it’s up to Alyssum to rescue him from a dark fate. Saving him will come at a cost and Alyssum Bracken’s world shatters when they return to New York to escape. She discovered things she can’t unlearn, information that contradicts everything she believes in and turns her life into a lie. Abandoning what she’s been taught, Alyssum seeks peace, and attempts to find a way to bring the Gremalians and the Gobel together...
But ending the war isn’t Alyssum’s only concern. Earth is now starting to rebel against its magical inhabitants. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters plague the Gremalians and the Gobel as a result their greedy lust for copper.
Will Alyssum bring both sides together? Or is it already too late to stop the coming disaster?"

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. Meet Jessica Jones: retired superhero, private investigator, loner. She tried her best to be a shiny spandex crimefighter, but that life only led to unspeakable trauma. Now she avoids that world altogether and works on surviving day-to-day in Hell’s Kitchen, New York. The morning a distraught mother comes into her office, Jessica would prefer to nurse her hangover and try to forget last night’s poor choices. But something about Amber Randall’s story strikes a chord with her. Amber is adamant that something happened to her teenage twins while they were visiting their father in the UK.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Story
Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

The Empowered Series,
The Goblin War (The Empired Series Book 2) continues where book one left off. I loved the first book in this ya urban fantasy series & this one I loved just as much. The unparalleled synopsis of war between Gremlins & Gobels offers a fresh & new concept to paranormal creatures. Alyssum is a snarky & witty heroine that you can relate to. A great set of supporting characters that add a perfect touch to the story. With a bit of drama & angst a real page turner novel that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. With a perfectly done ending epilogue to this remarkable series. I'm sad to see it end as I fell in love with the story & characters. I highly recommend listening to this ya urban fantasy novel & series as it is fantastic.
Sommer Hines was the perfect choice to narrate this audio. Her inflection fit what I would picture as Alyssum's character. Her tone was smooth and perfect pace. She brought the characters and their story to reality.
