Publisher's summary

The 10th-anniversary edition of the game-changing number one New York Times best seller, featuring a new foreword.

For more than a decade, Brené Brown has found a special place in our hearts as a gifted mapmaker and a fellow traveler. She is both a social scientist and a kitchen-table friend whom you can always count on to tell the truth, make you laugh, and, on occasion, cry with you. And what's now become a movement all started with The Gifts of Imperfection, which has sold more than two million copies in 35 different languages across the globe.

What transforms this book from words to effective daily practices are the 10 guideposts to wholehearted living. The guideposts not only help us understand the practices that will allow us to change our lives and families, they also walk us through the unattainable and sabotaging expectations that get in the way.

Brené writes, "This book is an invitation to join a wholehearted revolution. A small, quiet, grassroots movement that starts with each of us saying, 'My story matters because I matter.' Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance."

Thank you!

After a year of intense therapy I thought I was cured until I ran into an insurmountable amount of stress at work, school & balancing my family. I finished this book in less than 48 hours because my soul needed this! I feel as if it pulled me out of the darkness and I’m climbing out telling myself “girl, you CAN do this!”

Incredible Must Read

This book acknowledges the need to belonging we all have & the behaviors, conscious or unconscious, we repeat every day that don’t allow us to live whole-hearted lives and keep us from that belonging. Loved having it read in Brene’s voice.

Loved it for the 3rd time, took notes this time!!

A Must read for anyone who wants to start living hole heartedly
Brené is a Master Mind!!!!
And a great Story teller!!!!
Love the way she thinks in a structured way about so many very tough subjects to "messure"
But she did it and continued doing for the rest of the books she has written since

Another One 🤯😩💆🏾‍♀️

Brené Brown has done it yet again. I’ve been tearful, gleeful, weary, and inspired in each chapter. I’ve never been so seen and unwrapped in my life (well outside of therapy). I’m looking forward to DIGging deeper in my life. All I can say is thank you Brené.

The best book ever!

Seriously though, I think this is my fav book I’ve ever listened to. Def in the top 3. Moved me to tears multiple times because it was so honest. I love the storytelling aspects of it and the action steps you can actually put into place. This is the real deal. Brene Brown is a true national treasure with her work. I’m so grateful. This book has already changed my life! Get the book. Implement the ideas in it and it will change your life too. Now let’s get on with some wholehearted living folks!!! ❤️

WOW!

This book! I can tell that I will reread/listen to this book again and again. The last chapter about her daughter in the shoe department....for whatever reason really spoke to me. The whole book is a plan to live the rest of your life. I am starting now 💗
