About this listen

Gracie Miller is a small-town girl who has landed her dream job in New York City. As jewelry designer for one of the most prestigious jewelers in the world, she completed a particularly stunning piece: a custom setting for a large diamond. But when her billionaire client Mrs. Katsaros comes to have a minor issue with the setting repaired, Gracie is horrified to realize it is not the ring she created. Someone has forged her design, and the priceless diamond is gone.

Mrs. Katsaros has no desire to bring media attention to the jewelry heist, so she recruits her nephew, Quinn, and his FBI agent friend, Steve, to do some sleuthing off the record. When they discover that the missing ring is just one of many forgeries in the widow’s collection, they look to Gracie for help. They need her to act the part of Quinn’s fiancée.

From the lights of New York to the shimmering islands of the Mediterranean, Gracie is swept into a thrilling hunt. But amid the search for the elusive thief, she and Quinn find themselves increasingly distracted by their growing feelings for each other. What neither realizes is how close the danger lies and how serious the vendetta is - because, apparently, it is worth killing for.

Fun!

This was the first book by Bessey that was a contemporary rather than historical. She did a great job with a contemporary romance, and the mystery was fun too. Quite a lot of the story takes place during a cruise and amidst jewelry buying/selling/design, so it's educational as well as a fun get away. The love interests Gracie and Quinn were cute together, and the secondary characters were fun too. I'd love to see a romance for Quinn's Aunt Dorcas and his friend Steve. :D

Aubrey Warner, the narrator, was wonderful as usual.

Such a great story

I loved the story so much. I definitely recommend it. The story was very interesting and kept me wanting more. I'm sad it's over and am looking for my next book to listen to.

Both my teenage daughter and I enjoyed this book. Good clean romance with a real story to go with it

Not just good, but really fun

This isn’t just a good book. It’s a really fun time! I needed this so much with everything happening in the world. I can escape and enjoy someone else’s world without fear of bad language, and even worse descriptions of sex. One of the best love stories ever!

Good plot, but narrator was too slow, even at a higher speed setting

Narrator paused for so long between so many sentences, it kind of threw the story off, as I spent more time wondering when she would start speaking again instead of wondering what was going to happen next. Author wrote a good story, though.

Good story, worth a listen.

Very entertaining with the international bits of New York, Venice, plus Mediterranean cruise into Greece for us travel lovers. Fairytale aspects with the plot of civilians undercover with FBI, great wealth, sweet innocent romance & HEA. Very wholesome with no gratuitous sex and extreme language.
