About this listen

THE BIGGEST HEIST.

THE MOST DANGEROUS ADVERSARY.

FROM THE MASTER OF THE GENRE.

OH, AND EXPLOSIONS.

Impossible doesn’t belong in Riley Wolfe’s vocabulary. He’s a master of heists and disguises, whose life's work is swindling the rich out of their undeserved treasures.

Now rumors surrounding a dangerous new figure of international crime are spreading through the underworld. And this ruthless collector, the Cobra, has a personal vendetta against Riley . . .

No matter—with the aid of his new partner, Caitlin, Riley prepares to take on the most powerful cultural institution in the world and bring home the supposedly unstealable Rosetta Stone. With the Cobra waiting for the right moment to strike, Riley is put to the ultimate test as he faces this most venomous villain—and tries to make it out alive.

Packed with Jeff Lindsay’s trademark style of intricately plotted twists, stunning global settings, and thrilling action, The Fourth Rule is a relentlessly suspenseful and delicious escapist thriller that will leave you shocked, breathless, and endlessly entertained.

Ok, but more predictable

I have enjoyed all the Riley Wolfe stories so far. Almost as much as the Dexter series. The storyline in this episode was more predictable than the others, but it was still a good listen and escape while driving. Excited to see where Mr. Lindsay takes Mr. Wolfe next.

Not his best Riley novel

from the outset, it was really obvious how this was going to go. Too much "...because I'm Riley Wolf," too much tagline. Very little depth to the characters ...seems like Lindsay phoned this one in after patching together a weak story.

Very Entertaining Series!!!!

This is the fourth book in the Riley Wolfe series. I really enjoy the series and look forward to each new addition. Written by Jeff Lindsay who is also the author of the Dexter series. There are no similarities between the characters except that they are both very clever and devious in their own way. Riley Wolfe is not a murderer, he’s a thief. He’s not an ordinary run of the mill thief and he doesn’t steal from the ordinary person. Wolfe steals from the ultra wealthy and generally the not so nice people. He also doesn’t just steal anything just because of its value. It has to be very valuable and considered so protected that no one would ever even attempt to steal it.

In this book Wolfe’s heart is smitten with a woman. His head isn’t really in the game and once he has his plan he misses important clues that might have told him that the job he’s planning with this woman might not be the in his best interest.

The author does an excellent job narrating his own work
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Riley finds his Moriarty.

it was the least satisfying of the series. more of a setup than a stand alone within the series.

Love the series, not this book however.

I love Jeff Lindsay and have read both the Dexter series and Riley Wolf series. I found that as this series went on, it became more monotone. It wasn’t necessarily in the narration itself, but there was very little dialog and the first person narration of Riley Wolf just fell flat for me. Even his signature twists were pretty predictable. So, I’m not sure what happened here, but if this book set up for a 5th book, I’d likely leave it on the shelf and wait for another great Jeff Lindsay character to materialize.
