Publisher's summary

At the age of twenty-five, Leland Meadows has his whole life mapped out in front of him, with four rules to live by.

No new friends.

No dreams or aspirations.

No repeat hookups.

And definitely no committed relationships.

Leland's looking for safety, not heartbreak and disappointment. Then, one day, he receives an offer he can't turn down. Rent is due, and the catering company his best friend's sister works for is suddenly one server short for the biggest event of the year. Leland accepts the job—but those rules he's been so careful to follow? They don't stand a chance against Franklin Kincaid.

At forty-five, the lie Franklin Kincaid has been living his entire life catches up with him.

His job no longer fulfills him—if it ever had. His marriage is in crisis. His heart yearns for something he can't identify—or maybe he's just too terrified to admit it. And his children are clueless about all of it.

On a cold and lonely night, Franklin's search for courage leads him to a rooftop in downtown Seattle, where he finds Leland Meadows instead. Neither of them would ever be the same again.

The Fishermen is a best friend's dad MM romance and book two in the Infidelity series. It ends with a HEA and can be listened to as a standalone but may be better enjoyed in series order. Themes include age gap, possessiveness, hurt/comfort, and second chances. Both MCs are consenting adults.

C.P. Harris has done it again

4.5 stars

The story of Frankie and Leland is complicated, messy, but ultimately beautiful. There's pain and heartbreak, but in the end, so much love that they both deserve. Franklin is really reminiscent of Jasper in The Good Liar with his martyr-like ways. I felt Leland's pain in the scene where Franklin abandons him. It made me hate Franklin a bit in his treatment of Leland. They are both such complex characters, and C.P. Harris did such a great job in portraying them. They aren't necessarily loveable, but not worth hating. They are both real, with real emotions and human actions. And as with any C.P. Harris book, they both have a lot of possessive/obsessive energy, but not quite as intense as The Good Liar or Bad Wrong Things. I liked getting an inside look into Franklin after meeting him in The Good Liar. There was some overlap, as well as a bit of going back in time to when Franklin and Leland met. I really enjoyed how this story was done. The writing is great, the characters are so well written, and the story kept me hooked the whole time. And we can not forget the spice: over the top, but so so good. Definitely a great read for me overall

Too good

CP Harris is always on my list. The Fishermen pulls you in and keeps to there long after you’ve finished it. It’s so deep, emotional and super spicy. The narration is 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐️BRILLIANT⭐️

If I had to use one word to describe this book, it would be “Brilliant”. This book was so well written. The characters were beautifully formed, and the story was so well put together. I loved seeing how Leland and Franklin met and where they connected into the first book of this series, The Good Liar.

As always, the narration was OUTSTANDING! Liam DiCosimo and Aiden Snow were perfection. I can’t wait to listen to the third book in this series.

Well earned happy ending

I liked how this book was written in 3 parts. I love having a back story’s some reviews said that there was too much sex in part one. I don’t think there was. I’ll admit that I am not a fan on cum eating but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the book. C.P. Harris is in my top 5 favorite writers. Narration was wonderful. Can’t wait till next book comes out on audio. ❤️

Frankly speaking Frankie

Perfectly imperfect. CP Harris knows how to pen an intoxicating story and this is no exception. The Fisherman is the perfect sequel to The Good Liar. The dialogue is occasionally awkward, but that’s a inconsequential imperfection.. My only criticism relates to the voice Liam used for Frankie. It came close but sounded oddly flat. It sounded like he tried to mimic the voice that Aiden used for Frankie and it distracted me. Otherwise, both narrator’s did an awesome job. I’m looking forward to The Caretaker, Book 3 in the Infidelity series.

Not The Best Story

First off I will say that the narrators did an absolutely stellar job as always, making the listen so so good. Also, Mrs Harris can def write some delicious, down and dirty spice scenes!! Like, the burger and fries in this one...it doesnt get much dirtier than that!
The story however, left a little to be desired, in my opinion.
When I started I honestly felt like I was dropped in the middle of the story. I do have the first book and have listened to it twice. I felt the connection and rooted for Cole and Jasper far far more than Leland and Franklin. I usually get pretty emotionally inveated with the guys in the stories but I just didn't in this book. I was 2 or 3 hours in and almost returned it because the story felt hard to follow and jerky. I had questions through the whole book. While the guys do finally get their HEA, the story really seemed rough at times to me. I will say tho, that it wove Cole and Jasper seamlessly into this story and I found myself wishing the entire story had that same ease. Maybe it was just me but this was def not my favorite story from Mrs Harris. Bad Wrong Things is one of the best books ever. It was hard to believe it was written by the same author.
I do love a good long story so I don't feel like I am wasting a credit on a 4-5 hour book. Even though I didn't fall for these guys or the story I didn't hate that it was so long. Maybe because I kept wanting it to get better. At any rate, I didn't love it but I didn't hate it and I am def interested in seeing what others think. And if the 3rd book comes to audio I will still get it and listen. Honestly, listening to a long, not the best story from Mrs Harris is still better than 7-8 hours of SO many other books that are just not good at all. Was this review helpful, probably not, but I'm trying to be better about writing them. It always helps me to read reviews.

I loved this story

C. P. Harris writes the best stories. this one doesn't disappoint. The first part has all the back story we need without much sex. Part two, well hello!! holy wow! there's sex alright and some strange likes. Part three is emotional and a bit heart wrenching. I stayed up all night and couldn't stop listening. the narrating of this story only made it better. this pair really brought this one to life and definitely gave it more feelings and emotions. I loved it just as much as book one.👏🔥❤

Loved Leeland & Franklin’s story

I just finished this beautiful story and my book hangover is intense. Franklin & Leland’s story wasn’t an easy one. They both fought so hard to get their happily ever after. There were many twists and turns to their story. Leland’s childhood trauma & Franky’s rocky relationships with everyone in his life were both major obstacles for these two. CP did an amazing job writing this book! It’s a must read. Amazing narration by Aiden Snow & Liam DiCosimo
