Good stories, bad narrations.

The stories were fine- not as good as her usual standard but okay. The readers were not good. Ms. Maarleveld has a habit of continuing the the last word of a phrase with a forced exhalation of breath which became more annoying as the book(s) went along. Mr.Gold however, kept inappropriately emphasizing words as though the story was boring and he was trying to make it exciting. I was able to listen only to the first chapter and then started a new book,

I hate to write this review because I wanted to live all 4 books as I normally do anything Graham writes.
the first book was great and the 3rd was good. I couldn't finish the other 2. they were just to slow. it's like the focus was the tiniest details, not the story. I think that's it. narrator was great
