Enjoyed

Love Paulo’s work and this does not disappoint. Went in blind to the story and was pleasantly surprised by direction. Great story.

Great discussion of the problem of suffering

I like the idea of God, allowing problems in our lives, giving us the opportunity to fight, both wrestling with him/her as well as fighting for ourselves to prove to ourselves that we are capable of moving on after hardship. Interesting way to address the question.

What am I listening to?

Maybe I will edit this after I finish it but stop comparing this to the alchemist, and keep in mind this book does include a fair amount of graphic death/torture/murder in the name of perseverance to faith.

the story wasn't what I thought the description said.

I wasn't expecting a Bible story. not that it is bad, I must've just read the description wrong.

Super hard to follow

Narrator is great. He’s done a few other books. I really tried to follow the plot of this book but it jumped around way too much and was too confusing. Couldn’t even finish it despite forcing myself to try several times.
