Great story

I loved this book. It is a great escape, a great love story. The narrator is quite good with the accents and, switching from male to female voices as well. For a fascinating trip into this time in history, for a bystanders point of view. Take the leap.

Loved it!

This book isn’t like any other.... The narrator was superb! The storyline.... I couldn’t put it down!

Beautiful

I had the pleasure of reading this beautiful love story and had to purchase the audio book. This story of forbidden love--written in first person -- will keep you on the edge and in the end will leave you brokenhearted. I truly hope that one day Susan Tisdale will continue this story and pick where she left off. It must be told!

very hard to listen to

There is an eco in the background the whole book. It sound very tinny and hollow. It made it very hard to get into this book and want to listen to it at all. I usually LOVE LOVE LOVE the richness and sound equal of the narrators. If I hadn't paid for this book I would have deleted. Sorry

Might be good for some, just not me.

I did not like the sound. It sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom instead of a sound studio.
The story itself was written well. For someone seeking a tragedy it would be a good book. Yes there was romance in the book but I spent most of the time crying. I do not seek out romance stories to cry.

Sad intriguing story

This was a really sad love story. It made me want to cry so many times and even the end left me feeling a certain kind of way. It was well written but sadder than my usual taste and I do enjoy happy endings.

what an emotional story

I really enjoyed this book. the first order was a little hard to get into. Don't be working on anything while you listen out you'll be listening over and over until you can pay attention. tremendous love and sadness.

Not Ms. Tisdale's best work. it took awhile to get into the book. But, finally I did get into the story and it was interesting enough

Brilliant , beautiful and WOW!

The story was brilliant, love at its most beautiful and WOW, it was all fiction. It ended and left me pinning,thinking and feeling what if. Loved every bit of it. However, I wish There'd been more about what happened to Charles during the years they were apart.
