About this listen

US army veteran Henry Miller embarks on a hunt at the edge of the Black Forest but strays from the path and finds himself too close to the East Cascade Mountain Range.

Something lurks in the forest on the other side of those mountains. An ancient race of Bigfoot that have kept to themselves for centuries, until one of them defies the warnings and roams too far from the safety of their home.

When these two intersect, alliances are broken and events set in motion that will leave residents of the town of Easton Falls, Washington, fighting for their lives.

Well-Written, But I Wish It Was Longer

This book was fascinating, with well-written characters and an engaging plot line. I wish, however, that it was longer. I sincerely hope there’s a sequel.

Bigfoot

Henry’s world comes crashing down on him. Just when he thinks that nothing else can surprise him, he triggers an attack on the town. He thought it was just a big bear, he was wrong. Now the things parents want revenge.
If this story was extrapolated out it would have made things more interesting. It seemed very cut and dry and so much could have been drawn out to make it better

Great Bigfoot Story

Don't come across a lot of bigfoot stories that aren't based off of actual encounters. As a fan of all things sasquatch I really was excited to start this book and didn't put it down until I was finished. I felt like this is exactly how bigfoot stories should be told, dark, gritty, and full of violence. Garcia and Garcia did a great job setting the stage for a hunting trip that goes terribly awry and unleashes bigfoot on Easton Falls. And yes, it is a massacre. I really enjoyed the character of Henry Miller, Felt connected to him from the first scene and really cared about him as a character. Josh Banks did an awesome job with the narration. I liked his natural reading voice, but really liked how he voiced the characters. He had the perfect cadence when doing conversations between different characters. Only reason I am giving the performance 4 stars is that the staticky noise between chapters was really annoying. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

What a wild ride!

I had so much fun with this book, I listened a 3rd time. This would be amazing to see adapted to film!

meh

This read like a first draft. The bones of the story was there and could have been good. But, the characters, their interactions, and the situations they were put in were cliche and tired. Couple that with details that were overexaggerated and unbelievable, and it really took me out of the story. Parts were exciting and I wanted to know how it was going to turn out, but I had to really concentrate to push through.
