Acerca de esta escucha

After 50 years of hibernation it has awakened. Oak Grave Forest was a place of beauty. A paradise full of gorgeous wildlife. An outdoorsman’s dream. Until now.

A string of disappearances puts the police on high alert. Animals are found mangled and stripped of flesh. People enter the woods and never return. Blood covers the autumn leaves. And the forest is unusually quiet.

With dusk casting its gloomy shade over Oak Grave, Shane Alter leads a band of police officers into the forest in search of the missing persons. What they find, instead, is a carnivorous humanoid. Its eyes are full of hatred, its body full of hunger, and its blood full of murder.

Beware of the Bigfoot

The Blood of the Bigfoot by Michael Cole is a fantastic creature feature. I really liked how unlike a lot of other of Cole’s books that take place over several days. This one takes place during one night reminding me of most horror movies. The plot is very well written with the police go to investigate something and get stalked and hunted by a creature aspect. There was never a dull moment. I enjoyed all of the characters in this story. As for the creature of this story Bigfoot he was terrifying. He showed not just intelligence and strength but pure malice at times. The narrator Adrian M Lopez did a great job telling the story overall. All in all I would recommend The Blood of the Bigfoot to anyone who likes horror or a good creature feature book.

Fun and Terrifying

Starts slow and pay off is worth it. Michael Cole’s monster books are a guilty pleasure.

Great classic creature thriller

Story really reminded me of the old creature horror movies from the 70s and 80s. The narrator does a great job on doing different voices so it's easy to tell who's who.

Narrated lively and engaging terrifying story

I commend this narrator. Not many have such a pleasing voice tone and pitch. He was engaged with the story, defining characters and lively way of storytelling. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat with each chapter more terrifying than the last!

Pointless love triangle but not bad

This story was pretty good. Spoilers. The one thing it really suffers from here is a pointless love triangle, sort of. You’re dealing with one character who is thrust back into a situation with his ex fiancé who is also with her current boyfriend. And honestly, nothing really comes out of that. And the problem here is The woman’s ex fiancé who is the character you’re introduced to first is the one you would naturally feel more sympathy or pity for. He thought he and her would be married by the time the story starts, but they have broken up, she left him. Apparently his small business is doing badly, and he is just generally not in a great place. Meanwhile, His ex fiancé cop is in a relationship secretly with another cop and she finds out that he took a promotion mostly just for the money and really isn’t wanting to move away from the town. They live in even though she does. So story wise, you would be inclined to a route for the ex at the beginning… and really, the ex fiancé guy is sort of forced him to be more of a jerk just because. And even though he winds up losing his life, neither his ex fiancé or her new boyfriend even acknowledge that he’s dead or any kind of sympathy at the end. The story actually would’ve been a lot better. Had the woman just not been there or there has been no past relationship between her and the hunter you’re introduced to at the beginning. It felt like a writer how to guide advising on how to add more conflict on something, but it really didn’t need to be there. Otherwise, it wasn’t bad. Michael Cole is a good writer, but that part wasn’t necessary.

A very different approach

Finish the story. Where is book 2? Can't end like that. They need to finish the job.

Meh

I guess if you’re looking for a brainless tromp for a few hours, it’s ok. Not sure how to even really evaluate it, given A) it’s what’s on the tin and B) not really worth dissecting.
