About this listen
In The Dragon on the Border, Sir James, the Dragon Knight, faces his most terrifying challenge - the Hollow Men, spirits of the dead in empty suits of armour. Their weapons are all too real, and a slain Hollow Man can be resurrected within two days. As long as one of their unholy number endures, no Hollow Man can ever truly die It's a battle that could test any dragon. Not to mention a knight. Or an American. Or all three in one!

Story
For a game, the gods have given the world 12 Swords of Power so that they might be amused as the nations battle for their possession. But Vulcan the Smith has had his own little joke: the Swords can kill the gods themselves. What started out as Divine Jest has become all too serious as the gods fight to recover the Swords, and mortals discover that the mantle of power is more delicious and more terrible than anything they could have imagined.

Story
Their peace was a fragile thing, but it had endured for seven years, mostly because the people of Darassus and the king of the Naor hordes believed his doom was foretold upon the edge of the great sword hung in the hall of champions. Unruly Naor clans might raid across the border, but the king himself would never lead his people to war so long as the blade remained in the hands of his enemies. But when squire Elenai’s aging uncovers evidence that the sword in their hall is a forgery, she’s forced to flee Darassus for her life, her only ally the reckless, disillusioned Kyrkenall.

Riveting
I almost did not want to put this down and listen to the way the narrator portrayed the voices and presented the story. I was riveted and wanted nothing more than to continue every second that I could spare.

I love this series
So far the stories have lost none of it's charm, humor, or drama. Dickson also manages to not only keep the magic and fantasy at the forefront but also keeps the story grounded in historically accurate story telling.

Narrator is awful
Tried to start this three different times. The narrator sounds like a robot. The story is incredibly hard to follow because of that. Finally giving up.
