About this listen

She trusted him. Now, she’s paying the price....

I loved my husband, Doctor Drew Devlin, but he betrayed me. And now he’s dead.

As I put the key in the lock and open the door to the luxurious new home I’ve purchased with Drew’s life insurance money, I’m certain the worst days are behind me. My secret is safe, and I can’t wait to enjoy my new wealth and freedom.

Then, I meet handsome Roger. I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but as we spend our evenings drinking wine on my sunny terrace, I realize he’s just what I need right now. Roger is nothing like Drew, he’s spontaneous and romantic. And most of all, he’s honest.

He thinks I’m a rich, lonely woman. He’s wrong of course, there’s so much more to me.

But then one night, when we’re curled up in bed together, Roger says something that makes my blood run cold. I think he knows the truth about my life as the doctor’s wife.

I will do anything to stop my past from catching up with me, but is Roger really who he says he is? Or is my life now in danger?

An absolutely gripping psychological thriller packed with jaw-dropping twists from the number one best-selling author of The Doctor’s Wife. If you love Behind Closed Doors, Gone Girl, and The Girl on the Train, you’ll be hooked on The Doctor’s Widow.

I should have probably read the 1st novel to care about the main character. I do like the writing, but I just kept hoping the main character got what’s coming to her. We spent so much time with her too, and she really had no interesting aspects of her personality, so I found myself bored a lot of the time.
Eh. That’s my overall feeling. I drifted off a lot when listening to this book.

It’s hard to care when you hate the main character.

Just as good as the first book. I already have the next book in the series. I do really enjoy Daniel Hurst,'s books.

Loved it!

This is the first time I’ve enjoyed a sequel more than the original. From beginning to end it keeps you entertained. Loved!

Better than the first

I love the Fern character - bad/ good
I hope the next sequel does not make Alice the winner as I prefer Fern to be on top.

Good but not as good as the Doctor’s Wife

Very good sequel. I am excited to read the next book I hope it’s soon.

I devour every Daniel Hurst novel I can get my hands on. The twists and turns keep me on the edge of my seat. It seems that betrayal is at the heart of what sparks retribution. Funny, you never know who quite to root for because you find yourself discovering a nugget of righteousness even in the villain. I’m waiting breathlessly for part three.

A Real Page Turner

I was so looking forward to this book but in my opinion it could have been half as long. It was repitivie and dragged on.

Well written and it immediately grabbed and held my interest throughout the entire book. Now I can’t wait to read book #3.

Very good.

I was disappointed after looking forward to this. I also, as in this the first book, disliked the male narrator. He talked exceedingly fast and with his strong accent and slight tendency to mumble, I missed a lot of what he was saying.

Nowhere as Good as the Doctor's Wife
