About this listen

1844. In the final days of his life, Captain Basil Hall begins rewriting the journal of his acclaimed voyage to the coasts of the New World. But as Basil sails the HMS Conway into the forgotten corners of his mind, his past resurfaces in the form of a passenger with a dark secret and the tragic death of one of his men.

Searching for answers, Basil embarks on a mysterious quest that will take him into the heart of Aztec mythology, as he rediscovers who he is and what it truly means to be free.

Gob Smacked!

This is like no book I have ever read. First, you think it is one thing. A seafaring story. Then you think it's another thing...(not telling)....just when you have settled in nicely to the new track ......WHOA! here we go into a totally new and freaky thing that is really hard to describe, so I won't. The performance is outstanding and the added sound between chapters is appropriate and not overly done. It is some trip, I'm telling you.
