About this listen

From the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of 44 Chapters About 4 Men (inspiration for the hit series Sex/Life on Netflix) comes the highly anticipated sequel to her dark Irish mafia romance, Devil of Dublin.

Growing up, I spent every night tucked under my mother’s arm, dreamily listening to tales from her favorite book series—Legend Has It by Darby Donovan, a collection of spooky folklore about a town called Glenshire and the lonely, gray-eyed fairy prince who haunted the woods there. I knew they were just stories, but when my mother died and left me in the care of my cold, abusive father, that fictional fairy prince suddenly became very, very real to me. It was as if he was always there, hiding in the shadows, offering me his silent comfort. I turned him into an imaginary friend when I needed one most.

And thirteen years later, I’m doing it again.

When my coastal Irish town is bombed by the new Russian president, a Bratva leader seeking revenge on the United Irish Brotherhood, those missiles destroy everything I’ve ever known—my home, my family, and evidently my sanity—because when I pull an injured Russian Navy officer out of the sea, a man who led the charge against my town, I can’t bring myself to let him die.

Secluded together in my secret hiding spot, we’re safe from the Mafia war raging outside, but the overwhelming connection I feel to this stranger is a battle I fight every single day. I hate him with everything that I am, but when he looks at me with those smoky gray eyes, all I see is my friend. When he touches me, all I feel is desire. And when he wraps his lips around the sustenance I offer him, all I want is to feel them pressed against mine, loving me, putting me back together.

But no one can live in a fantasy world forever, and when reality finally finds us, the truth about him is worse than anything I could have imagined.

The man I rescued is no fairy prince.

He’s the goddamn Devil himself.

The best sequel

I loved BB brought this story full circle with Kellen and Darby! There are parts that are gut wrenching and parts that are hot as hell sexy! The narration team did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life.

The BEST book I have EVER read!

BB Easton really outdid herself. From the first chapter to the last I was completely taken in by the story and the characters. Not many things make me cry but this book brook me. And in a good way because of the detail and amazing character arcs that envelop and take you in. BB’s writing style is something I have never experienced before and in my lifetime I have read over a thousand of books! I too am a writer, however, I could never measure up or even compare myself to BB Easton. I also want to give a shout out to Eric Nolan. After listening to BB’s author note, she mentioned that because of your talent of voice acting, you brought the characters to life in such a way that EVERYONE wanted more! I couldn’t agree more with that statement so thank you Eric for all that you do and thank you BB for taking time out of your busy schedule to give me some writing advice and encouragement to follow my passion. Very Respectfully, JF Hilley

Dark Mafia Romance

This is the second book in the Devil of Dublin Series. For me the first one was definitely better. I still had a good time with this audiobook but I just didn't connect with this one like I did the first one but I still really enjoyed it. Eric Nolan and Elizabeth Klette were the narrators again and they did such a great job. Eric Nolan has one of the sexiest voices. I could definitely listen to him everyday! This is different from book one as it is based more in a war setting but with one huge twist. This book is about Clover and Damien. We will follow them on their journey, while on the run from the Russians and trying to find safety. There are a lot of obstacles they will have to over through out the book and there will be a few twist. The story and characters were well written and I felt like the world building was done well. I enjoyed this audiobook and I'm glad she decided to write another book in this series. I would definitely recommend this book.

In BB we Trust

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Devil Himself was undoubtedly my most anticipated dark romance of August. After the tailspin that was the world of Devil of Dublin I was so ready to come back to Glenshire— so much so that I didn’t think to brace myself. By the end of chapter one my heart was on the floor and I found the mantra in the back of my mind being—In BB we trust ♾️—as I moved on to chapter two and beyond.

I don’t think this sequel was what any lover of Devil of Dublin could have possibly have expected of this work. And that speaks so much to the magic that is BB Easton. This book find you being pulled in all directions, getting swept up in Irish folklore, holding your breath at the incredibly high stakes, and fall in love with the Devil all over again.

While the book itself was a perfect end to this story, the acknowledgments at the end of had me in goosebumps and reaffirmed my mantra when I started reading. There is just something about how she can take a seed of a simple question—What if?—and just build on it into all the twists and turns in her gorgeous mind to the tortured gift we have in our hands today. Ahhhh go read it. Do it now.

Thank you Valentine PR and BB Easton for the privilege of reading the ARC of The Devil Himself. And thank you Eric Nolan for promising to narrate so we could have this book at all 😅

That voice!!! 🔥🔥🔥

The book started out breaking my heart, but it also kept me entranced. It took immense self control and discipline to set my AirPods down when I had to take breaks for other things. This series stole my heart and heated my blood. I truly loved the story AND the performance!

Great follow up from book one!!

Clover and Damien meet while Ireland is attacked and taken over by the Russians. Clover is trying to escape to safety when she comes across Damien, a Russian naval officer, one behind the attack on her home. Damien is hurt, but Clover can't leave him to die, so she brings him to her hiding spot. Reality catches up to them and Clover finds out the real truth Damien is hiding.

I loved how this book was a *different* continuation of book one. I've never read a book like this and I would absolutely pick up another again. This book is full of love and loss. Clover and Damien are truly meant to be and the journey they go through is insane. This is one of those books that you'll be thinking about long after you are finished with it. I even had my ah-ha moment about where the title comes from about a week after finishing it. This book is an emotional rollercoaster that's definitely worth the ride! Must read book one first!

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You love fun but dark and suspenseful romance stories that draw you in and spit you out a different person.

Interesting plot twist

I love this story and how it ended up relating to the previous story! Not to mention the best Narration I've thoroughly enjoyed it. So sad it's over.

The MOST EMOTIONAL BOOK OF THE YEAR!

Eric Nolan's performance in The Devil Himself is nothing short of magnificent! It's his best narration so far. I don't say that lightly, as his performances in Devil of Dublin and this year's Leather & Lark, are two of my all-time favorite audios.

I just finished listening for the second time. The first time was through an ALC (Advanced Listener Copy). And I am still not ok. This is an experience that's been hard to wrap my head around the wreckage that is my heart, even after rereading it. Narrator Eric Nolan is truly BRILLIANT. And from the first to the last chapter I was on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat. The partnership between author BB Easton and narrator Eric Nolan is nothing short of perfection! This sequel is nothing what I expected, but everything I needed! I highly recommend listening to the audio for maximum experience. This is the MOST EMOTIONAL BOOK OF THE YEAR! It's perfection!

I recommend going into this story blind & staying away from spoilers. And like BB says in her opening words, take a deep breath, let go of any expectations you have, and enjoy the beautiful ride. And maybe have a reading buddy for moral support. This duet is best shared with a friend.

Check trigger warnings as this is a dark romance with sensitive situations & trauma.

Abide trigger warnings, otherwise amazing story!!!

A dark, gripping tale that will have you clenching, crying, and racing to get to the end to find out how it all ends. The Devil Himself is the sequel to BB Easton's The Devil of Dublin. And if you thought that was dark and twisty, you ain't seen nothing yet. While this could be read as a standalone, you will definitely miss out if you don't understand the connection from The Devil of Dublin.

This book starts off with a bang and once you recover from the shock, you'll be hanging to the edge of your seat from the excitement. Once the pace picks up, it's an avalanche heading downhill, only speeding up the further along the reader gets. I can usually separate from a book or a character but BB Easton has such a way with words that for better or worse, you'll be pulled in to experience it right there with Clover (FMC). I gasped, I cried, I was terrifiedand relieved, angry but torn, frustrated, captivated, and spent the whole book gasping with each new twist and turn. The adrenaline let down after finishing the book was intense. For anyone with triggers, this is a dark romance and you better read the warnings on the author's website closely because it all plays out right there on the page, in technicolor detail.

I actually listened to an audio version of The Devil Himself and I can tell you that it was probably more impactful than had I read it. Eric Nolan and Elizabeth Klett reprise their roles from the Devil of Dublin. The addition of Odette O'Beirne and Laurence Killen is simply brilliant. Told in duel narration, they will suck you into every heart-pounding second of the narration until it feels like you are right there with them.

Overall 5 stars. I'd give more if I could, both for story and narration.
