Max is back!

I really enjoyed the next installment in Eskens' series...please don't make us wait so long for the next one!
it's nice to find a great series that takes place in 'flyover land' and very nice to be able to read an author who knew the real legal world of criminal defense (Eskens has a J.D.).There are twists and turns to keep a reader guessing and Max is an easy character to care about.

R.C Bray: outstanding narrator. Story: good

R. C. Bray could narrate the phone book and make it seem to have an interesting plot. I bought the book because I'm a huge Bray fan, but the story was actually pretty good on its own. The characters are fleshed out enough for the reader to care about them, and the structure of the story keeps it engaging even though we essentially know how it ends (the action begins in the present moment and then flashes back and forth). Overall, I was entertained and recommend this book for anyone fond of this genre.

Great story

I really enjoyed the story as it played out. Love Minnesota mysteries and this is as good as a Sandford novel

I couldn't stop listening!

I finished this book within two days. It has you hooked within the first chapter.

Not my favorite in this series

I have enjoyed the rest of this series. This book I just really couldn’t connect.

The ending

Was not very exciting. Typical story line and was kind of boring. Good for sleeping though!

Poor Performance

The narrator nearly ruined this book for me. His overdone growl of a voice was painful to listen to. Hearing him repeatedly pronounce "fillet" incorrectly was even worse. The story was okay but quite dark.

Not a word wasted

Perfect pace, not a wasted word or superfluous detail. Perfect match for an audio book. A masterfully written story.

Voice actor was great. Audio sounded good too. i will be listening to this again.

James Bond meats Mission Impossible!

This is definitely for the James Bond/Mission Impossible lovers. A lot of action. The narrator did an amazing job.
