About this listen

Tonight, we will deal swift justice.

And by “we,” we mean you.

One week before All Hallows' Eve, in the tiny mountain town of Nevermore, an unexpected party invitation is issued to an eccentric group of townspeople.

Among them is an heiress, a spy, and an alchemist.

There is also a thief, an impostor, and a hypnotist.

There is a child, too—perhaps like you—who keeps his eyes and ears wide open at all times.

Each of them has a story.

Each of them knows a secret.

But which of them is responsible for the curious vanishing of Beatrice Willoughby?

Fans of The Westing Game and “Clue” will savor every plot twist and turn in this witty tale of a murder mystery party that’s deadly serious!

“Every good mystery needs a red herring.”
This was a delightful, family friendly mystery brought to colorful life by an outstanding narrator.
There is mild treatment of missing children, necromancy, and the perils of rushing to judgment.
This was free of romance, religion, and politics and thus fit for young listeners.

A charming children’s story

The reader of this story was incredible! Her various character voices were consistent and fitting.
The story itself kept me interested and wondering what the solution to the mystery would be. I loved the fairy tale allusions!

Clever and Intriguing
